There's nothing I could say to make you try and feel OK
And nothing you could do to stop me feeling the way I do
And if the chance should happen that I never see you again
Just remember that I'll always love you

I'd be a better person on the other side I'm sure
You'd find a way to help yourself
Then find another door
To shrug off minor incidents
Make us both feel proud
I just wish I could be there to see you through

You always were the one to make us stand out in a crowd
Though every once upon a while your head was in a cloud
There's nothing you could never do to ever let me down
And remember that I'll always love you

This song just expresses the bittersweet feelings and love that is shared by me and a special someone

Seems to be about the unspoken love that lingers in a relationship that has faded into obscurity. It reminds me of the feelings I hold for an ex - at the time when our relationship was ending I told her that I'd always love her even if we never talked again and that I hoped she found someone she could love. It was equally a heart-felt message wishing her happiness where ever life took her and a lame last ditch effort to see if there was anything to grasp onto. This is the same feeling I get from this song - an aplogetic response to the end of a relationship and a reluctant acceptance of what the future might bring.

I think that this song is written for the film "About a Boy" and it is the letter written to Marcus by his mum before she tries to commit suicide. It says in the film that the letter read "I'll always love you" and it does say in the song "I'll be a better person on the other side I'm sure." So that's my opinion.

I think its basically a suicide note put into song. its a beautiful song and it reminds me of me and my my best friend. the part where fiona walks into the living room after attempting suicide always makes me cry. hehe.

I wish people that say "I gotta download this" would rather say "I gotta buy this CD"... =)

I do love this song though, most of BDB's songs are great when you get a feel for them. None is like any other...

well, I downloaded it first. then I bought it. It's a great soundtrack. I really wished that BDB would be nominated for the Best Song Oscar this year. I don't know what criteria the song must follow but the movie About a Boy and its soundtrack definitely go hand in hand.

when i saw Badly Drawn Boy play live, he said that this song is about a suicide note from a mother to her son before he played it. Such a sad song :'(

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
