Flowers Lyrics
Why aren't things wild?
You said you was a flower child
I can respect your soul searching
But now's no time for questioning
I'm sure you've been misled before
And once you'd trust they'd slam the door
But I'm everything I claim to be
You just need vodka and honesty?
Do you know who I am
Do you know who I am
My love is real
As real as the flowers you smoke to get high
My love is real
As real as our god who has spoken on how we can fly
My love is real
As real as flowers
You're 22 why aren't you free?
You're mom and daddy's victory
A soul that's lived a thousand lives
Don't hide behind a child's eyes
I'm sure you've been misled before
And once you'd trust they'd slam the door
But I'm everything I claimed to be
You just need vodka and honesty?
Do you know who I am
Do you know who I am
My love is real
As real as the flowers you smoke to get high
My love is real
As real as our god who has spoken on how we can fly
My love is real
As real as flowers
I love you you hate me
I took math class that ain't a fair exchange
I call you you hang up
Don't have to be a bitch and get your number changed
I'm sorry forgive me
I never meant to call you those names
But I'm lonely so lonely please
why does this song have no comments? it's just so damn good.
eh, it's pretty good. i like it. i like the chorus, our love is real, as real as the flowers you smoke to get high. i guess if your a smoker then i guess it's a perfect simile for your love. But my favorite part would have to be the end when Gregg Alexander sings:I love you you hate me I took math class that ain't a fair exchange I call you you hang up Don't have to be a bitch and get your number changed I'm sorry forgive me I never meant to call you those names But I'm lonely so lonely please
-it's good what can i say-
it is good. i love his voice, especially when he sings in his high voice.
The moral of the story: There comes a point in life where you have to grow up and be your own person, not just sponging off your parents forever.
One of my favorite New Radicals songs. Actually, probably my favorite except for Gotta Stay High.
"I call you you hang up Don't have to be a bitch and get your number changed I'm sorry forgive me I never meant to call you those names But I'm lonely so lonely please" it always happen to me huhuhu
Reminds me of my ex. He was a hippie dude who smoked so much weed. There were times when he was such an asshole and hypocrite (Why aren't things wild?/ You said you was a flower child).
I wanted to tell him that my love was as real as anything he smoked or saw in his visions. I wanted him to love me, but it was almost impossible. He's with someone else now, but I still remember listening to this song and crying over him. psshh
Yeah this song is damn good! Another one of my favorites on the album.
I agree with laughitupnow said about it being a perfect simile. I also yeah I love when he sings in the higher voice as well.
Maybe I'm just not thinking hard enough, but the one part I just don't really get is "I took math class that ain't a fair exchange ".....
I love you, you hate me. I give you love, you give me hate, that isnt a fair exchange, he took a math class so thats how he figured that out. Its witty remark
Just heard this song for the first time yesterday, great stuff too bad they stopped after one album.
