no one commented on this song? wow i really like this song well i really like all of their songs Billy said it was about a girl who wants everything like nothing is enough but he laughed so he could have been joking a little.

Maybe about a girl who he loves and claims she loves him back but he never sees it, only echoes or reflections of his own love for her. She puts these unfair and impossible expectations on him ("walk with you between the rain drops") but he tries his best anyway because he loves her. Stretching it a bit, maybe she complains that nothing ever goes her way, that nothings ever good enough but really "rain falls on everyone". She's always looking for something better and can't see the love she has.

the lyrics have quite a few errors:

"to get your love WITHOUT" "WE TRAMP these dirty streets" "of my secret LOVE" "force down the WORDS ABOUT"

i think this is about coping with life in general. i always imagined it as an ode to freinds.

that's what it should be as best as I can tell, and I think that the last little bit is sort of saying that he's trying to do the impossible to save their love.

Hello. I am going to devote the next couple of days of my life to cracking the concept of Machina and Machina II, so if you like my theories on this song, check out my other thoughts.

In my personal opinion, this song has nothing to do with the concept of Machina. Although, I'll still take a crack at the meaning. Billy, on VH1 Storytellers said that this song is about, exactly how it sounds, trying to walk in between the raindrops. More so, trying to do something impossible. The example Billy used was trying to talk to some one closed minded that will never understand.

whatever the context of this song is, it's very personal to it's author.

"I'll save a prayer for you. So lost and longing too be dragged through dirty streets. wrapped up in clean white sheets and if you think they'll watch you now you should know they won't."

I have no clue what this song is about because it's obviously very personal to the author. Could be about a person willing to get hurt or put themselves in harms way in order to get attention. and authors refutation that this person will get this attention they want is decidedly sharp and is probably causing friction in the relationship, which he is probably trying to avoid to keep the relationship moving. In my life there was a girl I loved who didn't quite "get me" and the way that I loved her, and I think that's that's going on here in this song, too. He is not reaching his love in the way he intends.

zhockey7 was close. On VH1 storry tellers, Billy said that the song was about how nothing is ever seems to be good enough for the other person when you are in a relationship. Walking "between the raindrops" is a physical impossibilty. Just like making your partner completely Happy.

Well, whoever submitted this, put the name wrong. It should be 'Raindrops + Sunshowers'. This is my favorite SP song, and i love the meaning. If I remember right, I saw a list of all of the songs from MACHINA, and Raindrops was under.... oh, I can't remeber. BUT, check this out, you'll laugh:
