One Caress Lyrics

Well I'm down on my knees again
And I pray to the only one
Who has the strength
To bear the pain
To forgive all the things that I've done

Oh Girl
Lead me into your darkness
When this world is trying it's hardest
To leave me unimpressed
Just one caress
From you and I'm blessed

When you think you've tried every road
Every avenue
Take one more look
At what you found old
And in it you'll find something new

Oh Girl
Lead me into your darkness
When this world is trying it's hardest
To leave me unimpressed
Just one caress
From you and I'm blessed

I'm shying from the light
I always loved the night
And now you offer me eternal darkness
I have to believe that sin
Can make a better man
It's the mood that I am in
That left us back where we began

Oh Girl
Lead me into your darkness
When this world is trying it's hardest
To leave me unimpressed
Just one caress
From you and I'm blessed

Oh Girl
Lead me into your darkness
When this world is trying it's hardest
To leave me unimpressed
Just one caress
From you and I'm blessed

Well. I can't leave this one on suicide, so I have to say something.

If Martin is down on his knees, praying to a woman, he's not in a church! Besides Martin's not a Catholic, thus wouldn't be a kneeler in church anyway.

If he's kneeling before a woman and saying that only the woman has the strength to bear the pain, then it's a dom/sub situation. The kneeler, the sub, does not own his own body, the domme does. So if he's getting a whipping on his body by the domme, since his body belongs to the domme (not his) then while she whips him, she's bearing the pain.

And he's being punished for being a dog--his sins.

It's about someone who willingly gives into death. Seems like they had a bit of a habit and want to be lead into 'Eternal Darkness' very clever Mr Gore.

Hi, as already mentioned I think this song is about depressions, taking drugs, addiction and thinking about suicide and death.

  1. stanza: resignation, depression (down on my knees) - he wants to ease the pain and find remedy by taking drugs (to bear the pain)

Refrain:

Girl = Drug

Many drugs have female names in the scene:

Cannabis - Mary Jane Methamphetamine - Tina, Crystal MDMA - Molly Salvia - Sally D, Maria Pastora LSD - Lucy Cocaine - Snow White Methcathinone - Cat Dieacetylemorphine - Heroin (female hero?) PCP - Angel, Angel Dust 5-MEO-DiPT - Foxy, Foxy Moxy Oxycontin - Roxy, Roxies Adderal/Dextroamphetamine - Addy Atropa Belladonna - Belladonna Qualudes - Mandy, Mandies Ketamine - Kitty

every time he takes drugs he feels better (Just one caress From you and I'm blessed)

  1. stanza: things seem to lose their cruelty and by taking more and different drugs he can make is last (When you think you've tried every road Every avenue Take one more look At what you found old And in it you'll find something new)

  2. stanza loves his addiction - in his eyes the only way to become " a better man" considers to overdose (eternal darkness) and die

Love that song

My Interpretation

God, what a dark, eerie, beautiful song. To me, this song is not only about death, but probably about suicide.
