I am happy that I have you
Even though you're not here now
I know somewhere You are dreaming
Though it's definitely not of me

It doesn't matter If this all shatters
Nothing lasts forever
But I'm praying
That we're staying
Together

I am warmed by your friendship
Even when you're far away
And I'm happy in the knowledge
We may never see the day
When I kiss you and you kiss me
Don't pretend you miss me
The worst kind of diseased mind
Is one filled with jealousy
If we should meet again
Don't try to solve the puzzle
Just lay down next to me
And please don't move a muscle
I will thank you Most of all for
The respect you have for me
I'm embarrassed, it overwhelms me
Because I don't deserve any

It doesn't matter If this all shatters
Nothing lasts forever
But I'm praying
That we're staying
Together

this is one of those songs that just hits you. i really relate to this one. it's about two people who were in love, they broke up, one moved on and is with someone else, and the other person hasn't moved on. they're still friends, and they might be together again someday. even if they do get back together, the speaker knows that it may not work out...maybe because the two don't know went wrong in the first place.

"If we should meet again Don't try to solve the puzzle Just lay down next to me And please don't move a muscle"

that's the only way for them to be together. don't think, just be.

Also...even though you can't have this person in a relationship, or the way you want it too. You're still happy that you have that person in your life.

I agree with goinghometime, but I also see it in this way. I see it as a possible no-strings attatched affair, with the two people also happening to be friends. He wants her, but knows that it isn't him that she truly loves. He knows that he will never completely have her, that she will never be his alone, and that it could end. But, he values having her as a friend, so he tells her that even if the affair between them ends, he still wants to remain as her friend.

This is a truly beautiful song...Martin's voice is so pure and clear. Flawless.

Wanting someone fully with no disregards and complications...but you can't...You look back at your memories you've had with that person and you can only rely with those memories. YOu and that person have had a past, but it can no longer go more than that. You want the person, but you're not sure if can ever do it.

I think this song is about an unconditional love, like what the others have said... the trance that you have from the past love/feeling... sad and happy at the same time... nice music from M.L. Gore...

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Somewhere Only We Know
Keane
Per the FAQ on Keane's website, Keane's drummer Richard Hughes, stated the following: "We've been asked whether "Somewhere Only We Know" is about a specific place, and Tim has been saying that, for him, or us as individuals, it might be about a geographical space, or a feeling; it can mean something individual to each person, and they can interpret it to a memory of theirs... It's perhaps more of a theme rather than a specific message... Feelings that may be universal, without necessarily being totally specific to us, or a place, or a time..." With the nostalgic sentiment and the overall tone of the song, I think Keane is attempting to express a Portuguese term known as 'saudade', which does not have a direct English translation but roughly means "that which we remember because it is gone."
