Droppin' Plates Lyrics

Wew Here we go again, get up
A little somethin' for your earhole, get up
baring a part of my soul again, get up
Disturbed in the house, were droppin' plates

You said it couldn't be done
Told me that it's the kind of battle
That just couldn't be won, you know
You're too sick, too hard, too fucked in the head
You'll never make it, no, not in this lifetime
Well guess again my friend
Don't act suprised
We got the bass drum kick
That will blow out your eyes
Cause when you hear this shit
You'll get to steppin'
Gonna fight the war
And use my music as a weapon

You know I'm talkin' bout Recognition
You know I'm talkin' bout Vindication

Another goddamn slap in the face
Don't wanna give us a place
Are you afraid?

Well fear this,
Cause I'm breakin' through the walls of your nightmare
Wake up time to die
The way I'm livin' there is no compromising it
Better get ready for
Another suprise and it may leave a mark
Beacause I'm coming fast
Plantin' thoughts in your mind
And droppin' plates on your ass

Well here I come
I'm droppin' plates on your ass

Well here I come
I'm droppin' plates on your ass bitch
You never mind and you don't need this
Well here I come
I'm droppin plates on your ass bitch
You never mind and you don't need

Well on your mark, here we go again
Well never mind cause you're not number one
You're too hard and from the other side
I think it's time to bring it home again
Right to me

I think the song is about Disturbed's rise to fame through the apparent lack of support from those who mattered to them. Now Disturbed is dropping plates (records/albums/plates...you know) on their asses, saying "look what we did, punks!"

I LOVE DISTURBED!!!!! this song is awesome!!! for most ppl that listen to disturbed they r punk rockers or goths or sk8ters me im a mix cept i dont sk8 but i think the lyric "Gonna fight the war And use my music as a weapon" i LOVE that part cuz its so true theres a war... pop..rap.. and rock.. r all fighting and it seems pop and rap r kinda combining (that backsteet kid and that rap artist) and rock is really the only unique type of music and i know that rock has more of a background then rap or even pop... we had stuff like zepplin and some other classic rock like aerosmith... now beetles.. i take kindly to.. its a rock and roll.. but when u blare disturbed thu ur speakers of ur car and roll on by the mall with a buncha thugs trying to be who there not sends a measage of independence and dedication. later

yeah man this is about nothin' else but the rock music! i think that droppin' plates means the the sound caused when a stick hits the drum(the metal part of the drum)

Whenever I listen to this song I think of my friends Grandma. She has these plates in the kitchen that are hanging on the wall and if you ever touch them, boy are you in for it. So I think this song is like dropping those damn plates to cause disturbance(no pun intended) on purpose. Screw the rules and just let me live mo' fo'.

it seems to me this song is a rather obvious reference to the Israeli's struggle against the Palestinians. "Recognition... vindication." am i the only one who thinks this?

"not a hipercrit a hipocrite, come on lets at least try to spell if you are going to use big words like that." - CouchpotatoHero

Are you trying to be ironic or are you just an idiot? Because it's spelt "Hypocrite". If you're going to correct people's big words and do it wrongly... well actually - just don't do that.

How funny is it that in correcting his incorrectly spelt "hipercrit" with YOUR (slightly less, but still) incorrectly spelt "hipocrite"... you were, in fact, BEING a hypocrite? I love it!!

Aaaaaaaaaanyway, onto the song! I love Droppin' Plates. It's brilliance. Why's it plates? Who knows... but still - it SOUNDS good, it's slow and heavy... and one of my favourite tracks on the album.
