Morning Glory Lyrics
personally, i think that its just about getting up in the morning and feeling kind of run down and unimportant.
the radio and helicopter=the noises that wake you up
All your dreams are made When you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade
geting up and shaving, even though you dream of a better, less monotonus life.
todays the day that all the world will see=deciding to do something about your crappy life, and show the world that you're worth something.
need a little time to wake up.....=when you wake up, you're really tired, and you know that you have to go to work, but all you want to do is lie there and sleep away your meaningless life.
morning glory...= well, im undecided about this. the first time i heard it, i thought that it was a kind of sarcastic barb, implying that he is happy in order to ridicule how crap he feels. however, i know morning glory means erection, and it does fit in to my version of the song (the best part of your day is that little bit of pleasure that you get from waking up with a boner). im leaning towards this definition at the moment.
but i deffinatly dont think its drugs. just because the author once had an addiction, dosnt automatically mean that all of his songs are about drugs. plus it dosnt really fit in to my version.
thankyou for listening (or reading, or whatever) to my opinion.
Totally agree with scar_eire here! This is the way I've always interpreted as I've been listening to it from a very young age.

One song can have a thousand meanings, that's what makes them special.. they mean something different to everyone right? but well i actually agree with "lindseelewis" i think. The song is obviously about drugs but it might be about how you are "chained" to them and it's better to stop. It's true that Noel has been an addict, but it's also true that he has said before that eventhough he used them and he enjoyed every minute of it, if he could go back maybe he wouldn't do it because he knows that they are addictive and he doesn't like to depend on anything. He also says that he knows that drugs "at the end destroy" so i guess that he could be talking about leaving them.
Battling to come out of an addicition (not necessiarily a drug) or a depression?
Todays the day that all the world will see - This line really sums up the song to me, the whole process of coming out of this bad headspace is too show the fuckers who don't believe you can do it. Showing the whole world your a stronger / better person than your friends or family or girlfriend etc. think you are.
Tomorrow never knows what it doesnt know too soon - The next day is never going to be what you expect, you could come out of the state of mind or go back.
Need a little time to wake up - Recognizing whats going on, need some time to yourself / some peace of mind.
Whats the story Morning Glory? - You've batteld those demons, time for a new start. Whats the next? Whats the story?!
Thats my two cents about it. My favourite Oasis song ever I think, closely tied with Slide Away, Listen Up & Headshrinker
Ok...one thing that people are missing with this entire song is that Oasis probably MEANT TO HAVE A DOUBLE MEANING! I completley agree with the coke reference...between all your dreams are made (from being high), the mirrors and razor blades it makes sense. At the same time...it is also describing the otehr part of the addiction...coming to terms with yourself and fighting the addiction. "You need a little time to wake up...what's the story morning glory?" One...it can be about drugs and having trouble to wake up after a high, and the morning glorgy has so many drug references (name for a someone who was high and crashed/had to wake up, and the actual flower that is a drug like you are drugged up) and it also talks about sobering up and finding out what you should do with your life when you just want to stay in bed, not face the music and try to sleep (like a morning glroy will do and die after 1 day if they can't open)
There are some songs, especially from oasis that you cannot quite understand, and, if it's that way, you can always just enjoy music. I adore this song from the first time i heard it. And, yes, it is about cocaine addiction, and realizing it, but there are also another meanings.. but, is it really matter if you love the song, and listening to it makes you feel great?

morning glory is when you wake up in the morning with an erection
It's 100% about cocaine addiction. All your dreams are made when you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade is being ironic about how fake the buzz is. Morning glory is an English term for waking up with an erection. Cocaine can raise the libido and act a bit like viagra. Cocaine totally tires you out when you stop taking it. He sounds tired throughout the song - need a little time to wake up. Yup, the joys of coke. At the time he wrote this Noel was a coke addict by his own admission. Great song
Also, 'todays the day that all the world will see' is the arrogance you feel when on cocaine. 'Walking to the sound of my favourite tune, tomorrow never knows..' Tomorrow Never Knows is one of Noels favourite Beatles songs. He did a track with the Chemical Brothers called Let Forever Be which borrowed heavily from it.

This song is about Cocaine Addiction. This lyrics gives it away. "When you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade" Which is 2 pretty common peices of Coke paraphernalia.
Alco the fact i read in a mag somewhere that that is what it was about in a Oasis interview. The lead singer was a coke addict for sometime.
this song is actually about the psychedelic drug morning glory, hence the name morning glory
At first I thought this song could be about a girl who struggles with self image and cutting, mirror and razor blade. But now I think it's about how someone who's addicted to drugs can't see anything past it. And all of our dreams were taken by this addiction, or maybe they were never there in the first place.
his song sounds good on (LIVE) and (normal) its got the best beat and is meger
