Christian Soldiers Lyrics
Medieval exorcists
Used a 20 gallon brass syringe.
A 20 gallon brass syringe
Filled with holy water
now...
now...
A 20 gallon brass syringe
Filled with holy water
Which they pumped into..
Into the anus of the possessed....

I think the song has a more symbolically saterical meaning. She is criticizing the practises of the church by saying that they are basically "screwing" you in the anus with their holy water in order to cure you from your illness in a very perverted and painful way. Because of the location of the syringe and the symbolism of the holy water representing the churches practices but the amount of water being deadly. No body can hold 20 gallons of liquid in their stomach let alone thier anus. Funny yet powerful. I am a Christian and I found this song amusing. Kudos Rasputina.
this song is about an old form of exorcism
I always read more into it than that. I saw them looking at medieval and modern christians and making a social comment in the differences (or lack of them) in behavoir.
But it's kind of a funny song :p
It's a look at how bad medicine and methods were back then. But the guy does seem to get off on it... eww...
The song drips with Irony
The first time I heard this song I was like 'WTF?!?' and I immediately made my friend listen to it. After I actually listened to it once or twice more, I basically thought the same as concubine: priest fighting 'evil'. Except that I also thought that Melora's talking about how overboard medieval 'doctors' went with 'healing'.
its ironic because you'd be putting holy water up the ass which is quite preverted eventhough its supposed to save you. Anyways this was never a real method in those days.
It's a nice idea, though, right?
