I think this song is about a single person, or a small group of people who are basically begging the majority to see past the broken promises and lies of a tyrant/hilter/stalin figure.

She is telling everyone to follow their own hearts and not believe this person, because he only has the power so long as they blindly follow him/her and even though there seems like there is no way from out of his power, there always is. For some reasons reminds me of the Bush Adminisration with all their lies and how people still mindlessly follow him despite the fact he ruined the reputation of the United States, started wars without just cause, and nearly crashed the economy, or did.

I have heard that at a concert Sharon yelled out before they played this something about it being about all the Hitlers and Stalins of the world...

This is a really good song, for many reasons, but most importantly (for this site, anyway) is the lyrical content. There are so many different interpretations that can be applied to this song, even without any consideration to WT's original intent. As stated above, this is the direct idea of a leader using their political power and tyranny to herd the sheeple. There's also the very Christian context of Satan the deceiver and seducer, or even as temptation itself. I could expostulate on the facets of this for ages, I'm sure, but really, the core of it is that this song will apply to you on some level, no matter what your beliefs and perspective have to offer you.

This is one of the most beautyful lyrics i've ever read. and i would say that above lines say everything. it says that we shouldn't just follow blindly the "opinions" of the majority, but that we should remember who we are and what is relly important.

If any of you have read books from the Coldfire trilogy (Black Sun Rising, When True Night Falls, and Crown of Shadows), you may notice that this song fits the character Gerald Tarrant quite nicely. One of my favorite WT songs.

this band is effing awesome!! i wanna make a website on this band and this song is one of their best i cant get enough of it this band brings out the most beautiful songs. like they actually have alot of meaning to them unlike other music that has none. but deffinately, the best band ever!

Absolutely, I could not agree more. Sharon has an amazing voice, and WT has the whole package. Love this song, I think that it is one of the best on the Mother Earth Record.
