Empezar porque si
Y acabar no se cuando
El azul me da cielo
Y el iris los cambios
Los astros no están mas lejos
Que los hombres que trato
Repito otras voces
Que siento como mias
Y se encierran en mi cuerpo
Con rumor de mar gruesa

Te he dicho que no mires atrás
Por que el cielo no es tuyo
Y hay que empezar despacio
A deshacer el mundo
El aliento de la tierra
Y su calma serena
Y la sombra de la tarde

Es una mano que tiembla
La mùsica me abre secretos
Que ahora están dentro de mi
Al final después de todo
No somos tan distintos

For the English speakers listening to this:

Start just because and finish don't know when the blue gives me sky and the iris the changes. The heavenly bodies are no further away than the men I deal with. I repeat the other voices which feel like my own and they enclose my body with murmur of rough seas.

I told you not to look back because the sky doesn't belong to you, and we have to start slowly to unmake the world.

The breath of the earth and its peaceful calm, the shadow of twilight that is a shaking hand. The music reveals secrets which are now inside me. In the end and after all we are not so different. An oasis in the desert where patience is left.

I told you not to look back because the sky doesn't belong to you, and we have to start slowly to unmake the world.

Put me out of reach of a universal yawn. We'll see each other in exile or in a prison cell. Put me out of the comfort of my personal history. I am a predatory bird: look at my wings!

I told you not to look back because the sky doesn't belong to you, and we have to start slowly to unmake the world.

Not quite sure what the song means, though.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
