Resurrection Lyrics
Consumed with memories that preceded today
Given a chance to bereave life that's slipping away
Suffered through tragedy of my slow decay
Deceptive tendencies dragged my soul away
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of mortality
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
Forsaken by destiny, forsaken by my own mind
I must remove my skin to see belief in your eyes
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of humanity
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
Reach for the sky
Touch the sky
Revive a hope
For mankind
Given a chance to bereave life that's slipping away
Suffered through tragedy of my slow decay
Deceptive tendencies dragged my soul away
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of mortality
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
I must remove my skin to see belief in your eyes
All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of humanity
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...
Touch the sky
Revive a hope
For mankind

Blackened89 your comment is absolutly ridiculus. Why would an anti-religious lyric ruin a song? If your such a strong christian that you complete disrespect the idea of not having a Christian religion then just listen to Christian metal.
This song in no way bashes God or any kind of religion, it - to me - is a song about the lost time and man power put into a religion and wars that they wage in religions name. He's stating that when we do finally start to kill ourselves off, what is going to save us? What if this 'God comming to save us' idea that christians have isn't true? Then what will we do.
One of the greatest lyrically and musically created song ever.
How can such an awesome, powerful song, not have any comments? I just thought it deserved at least one.
I love this song. The lyrics, and the vocals and the music and the compostion is just perfect. It's absolutely amazing.
brilliant song,it has that stop start riff, and Buritn does a really good job on the vocals. This is one of the best FF songs.
It's really different for Fear Factory. They move away from their heavier stuff and add some melody into it. It sounds awesome. This is my favorite track on Obsolete, next to Shock.
this song f***ing rocks! i love everythin by fear factory but this song is truly amazing
this song is truly a masterpiece
no one seems to have any comments on the meaning of this song. but if you listen to the rest of the album it's pretty obvious and self explanitory, especially if you read the notes in the lyrics.
But, if anyone wants a quick rundown. The Edgecrusher, our hero, walks into a church wondering/remembering who jesus and/or god is. The whole album is a story of man vs machine in a machine dominated future. The Edgecrusher is a rebel who is losing hope in what he is doing (fighting the machines) because, he feels man is just too self destructive, and in this song and the next (timelessness) he loses and then regains hope for humanity.
This song is the Shiz-nite! One of my favorites of all time.
The Resurrection of hope for mankind, Resurrection of faith, Resurrection of the strength needed to fight the oppressive Securiton and its machines.
I gotta question... if this song is supposed to revive his willingness to fight on, and the statue of jesus helps that, why does he throw his sword at it in the video?
