Stone Cold Crazy (Queen cover) Lyrics

GARAGE INC. (1998)

(Mercury, May, Taylor, Deacon)
Originally recorded by Queen in 1974

Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning,
I was dreaming I was Al Capone.
Rumor going round, gotta clear outta town,
smelling like a dry fishbone.
Here come the law, gonna break down the door,
carry me away once more.
Never, never, never want it anymore.
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor.

Crazy
Stone cold crazy, you know

Rainy afternoon, on a killer typhoon,
I'm still playing on my slide trombone.
Anymore, anymore, gotta take it anymore.
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor.

Crazy
Stone cold crazy, you know

Walking on the street, shooting people that I meet,
with full loaded tommy gun.
Here comes the deputy, try fuckin' getta me,
gotta fuckin' get up and run.
They got the sirens loose. I ran right out a juice.
They are gonna put me in a cell, if I can't go to heaven
will they let me go to hell.

Crazy
Stone cold crazy, you know

The updated sound almost makes it as good as Queen's version. But as always...it's hard to do a cover better.

i noticed they changed a few lyrics to make it more aggressive such as "Rainy afternoon on a killer typhoon" was "Rainy afternoon, gotta blow a typhoon" and "with a fully loaded tommy gun" in the original was "with a rubber tommy water gun" and "try fuckin' getta me, gotta fuckin' get up and run" was "he's gonna come and get me, I gotta get me get up and run"

I was amazed how alike the Queen song soudned to this. It really sounds like early thrash.

I actually liked this version better than the Queen one, a damn good song regardless.

As you can tell by the screen name. I'm no fan of Metallica but I have to admit, this is one of the greatest cover's ever. They should have ended their lives after recording this song because they never put out anything better.

This has to be the most blasphemous Queen cover in history - The Young Ones' ridiculous cover of Bohemian Rhapsody coming close second. Once again, a case of hasbeens ripping off great songs by greater bands by ripping up the goddamn lyrics page. Shameful.

Yea right, lol. Metallica is not my favorite band by a long shot, but I do believe they are the greatest, they would roll over queen any day, and to add to that most of the covers they have done have actually improved the song dramatically.
