Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) Lyrics
I'm fast to get away far
Now drive me far away
Now drive me far away
you cant honestly think this song is about driving or going on a road trip or whatever stupidness. it makes me quite sad to think such ignorant people listen to such great music.
the song is obviously about some kind of greivance with a female character whos left his life and hes tried to replace her. i also liked the interpretation of it being a kidnapper talking about his crime.
but no, its not about "getting in your car and turning the AC" on you fuckin idiots.
@clyro57 actually I believe it's about the relief of finally being able to escape somewhere you were stuck and hated being and he asked for the silence to enjoy the moment of finally being able to get the hell out of the not caring where he's going but just getting far away from there

This song is based on an old depeche mode song about just forgetting all your troubles and leaving on a trip with close friends on a road trip type thing
That's what Chino said in an interview The depeche mode song rules too so check it out

hello,i think this song is about how a girl can be the only thing you got when everthing else is fucked. When where you are is so shit "this town dont feel right".Its how when school, life and even yourself is just so fucked up and the only thing you got is your girl and you and her just need to get away.Well thats how i feel....
this song can mean a ton of things... for me it's about having a drug addiction and substituting it with anything... and using anything you can find to replace the drug and hoping it can get you as far away from it as you can

everyone has their interpretations, and here's mines:
i think its something quite sexual about a person. its about loving someone, but you can't have, but also can't get over. so you hire a hooker (i dressed you in her clothes) and you act as if that hooker is the one you love. and by "having" her, your feel like she's finally yours, and although knowing she isn't the actual person, you still don't care. and by doing all this, it helps him to get farther away from her - to forget about her.
its a weird interpretation, but its just my thoughts. if anyone's seen the movie "Memento", something like this happens. the guy has an "escort" act as if she's his wife after his wife days, and it helps him.
To me, this song says so much with so few words. I have a somewhat psychoanalytical interpretation of it, in that I think it is about growing up, with human wants and needs that are maturing and transforming. First of all, I think the "town" he is speaking of is simply his childish innocence that is fading fast. Further, I think "I dressed you in her clothes" is a way of expressing how people tend to find elements of their parents in those who they love in adulthood. I think the original "her" is the speaker's mother--his original caretaker--and now...

Of course, this isn't to say that people love their parents in a weird romantic way, but more so that we are all subject to strange maturing patterns, through which adults subconsciously derive behavior from very early and primal experiences. It is ironic how people often become what they are trying to get away from, and how we can be so pre-programmed yet still completely responsible for our will and how it relates to the equation of our lives.
I think this song is about insecurities with one's self and how one usually doesn't want to confront them, but yet they run from them and try to do things so they won't have to look down on themselves. More than likely, insecurities obtained from a failed relationship. And of course, the only thing that can make this person forget about a bad relationship is to start a new one, and then run away (or drive away) and start over.
I totally agree, AdrenalineKitten - "Passenger" and "BQAD" are great road-trip music. It somehow has the ability to calm you down, and just gets you into the mood for a long drive, or something, atleast it does that to me. There's a lot of energy in most Deftone songs, but those two songs are just so calm and relaxing, and I love that.
Living in a town your whole life and having one girl you love in other words dressing the otwn in her clothes, then wanting to leave because of getting dumped.
I think this song is about a serial killer passing through towns committing murder, dressing his victims in his ex's clothes so he can fulfill a fantasy. Reminds me of a Michael Graves song. But everything is open to interpretation. <3
This song is based on an 1987 Depeche Mode hit song called ‘Never Let Me Down Again’ about just forgetting all your troubles and leaving on a trip with close friends on a road trip type thing.
