Around the Fur Lyrics
Hey vanity, this vile's empty, so are you
Hey glamorous, this vile's not God anymore, yeah
Speak, I don't get it
Should I ignore the fashion or go by the book
I don't want it
I just want your eyes fixated on me
Coming back ah
Coming back around the fur
Prostitute, climb back down from the floor
Please don't fuck around and die like this
'Cause I love her
Speak, I don't get it
Should I ignore the fashion or go by the book
I don't want it
I just want your eyes fixated on me
Coming back ah
Coming back around the fur
Take, it takes my eyes again
The fur, the fur, around, to me make it fine
Speak, speak, you're so bad to me
I don't wanna get pissed off, but anyway
Come on, came so far
I'm innocent, drop your weapons and come on
Speak, you're a liar, you're lying
I don't care about ah
Hey glamorous, this vile's not God anymore, yeah
Should I ignore the fashion or go by the book
I don't want it
I just want your eyes fixated on me
Coming back ah
Coming back around the fur
Please don't fuck around and die like this
'Cause I love her
Should I ignore the fashion or go by the book
I don't want it
I just want your eyes fixated on me
Coming back ah

Speak, you're a liar, you're lying
I don't care about ah

The fur coat interpretation IS a metaphor, and it's the way Chino described the song in an interview. He actually got the idea for this song while looking at a fur coat in a store.
It's actually half a metaphor, and half an example. On the outside it's beautiful and soft, but on the inside ("around the fur") it's the dried out skin of a dead animal. He's comparing the fur coat to vain people--pretty and nice looking on the outside, but dead and ugly on the inside. That's what he means by "around the fur." He's talking about what's on the other side of the fur coat.
"Should I ignore the fashion or go buy the book?" This line means just what it sounds like. He's asking himself if he should do what's "normal" and accepted, or be creative and do his own thing at the chance of being ridiculed.
"I don't want it, I just want your eyes fixated on me." This one means what it sounds like, too. He decides that he doesn't want all that glamorous crap, and that he wants people to see him for who he is as a person.
Panochita, you shouldn't call people stupid shits if you don't know what you're talking about. I'd call you a bitch, but I'm a nice guy, so I won't.

It's about how fur coats are really nice on the outside but on the inside they're really shitty looking which is how Chino sees some people
It's about vanity, and fashion, and all that shallow shit that everyone's so fucking infatuated with nowadays. Great song, but that shit makes me sick to my stomach.
It's about fucking superficiality, vanity, shallow little bitches with perky tits and shit for brains.
this song is about eating bush
At first I was like "yum," but then I pictured giving George Bush oral and... yeah....

Guys, this one is pretty simple...it's Chino's torment about becoming a big star. Remember, this is the first album written after their fame exploded from Adrenaline.
He's bemoaning the shallow, ugly and soulless characteristics of celebrity status (Hey Vanity...). Then he's questioning whether he should do his own thing (ignore the fashion) or fall in line and act like the rest (go by the book). All he wants though, is for people to watch him and his art.
The prostitute line is another line about the shift from normal to celebrity life. The prostitute (the rock star side) is tripping out on something (climb back down from the floor). He doesn't want her to OD or die because then it'll ruin his "normal" relationship with his wife/gf.
Again, it's all about Chino's internal struggle with the transition to rock star status.
This song uses a fur coat as a metaphor for beauty and vanity. Fur coats are beautiful and soft on the outside, but when you come “around the fur” you find the dead and ugly skin. Chino is comparing people who are vain to a fur coat, saying they can be beautiful on the outside, but dead and ugly on the inside.
I think its about a girl or something... one very shallow and slutty lady by the sounds of it. excellent song too
It's about how infatuated he was with hollywood and the overall glamour of being a rock star. Then, after a while, he realized it's not all that it's cracked up to be. That's what I think.
All I heard was this song is about sex.
