I think this song is about a first love, and how you reveal everything about yourself to them.. "You're the first star You're the one who sees it all " and they're the only person that finds all your secrets out, because after them you lose that, I don't know, innocence, and never reveal yourself so totally to anyone again.
I think this song and Fireal go together quite well, as the theme is more or less the same in both songs. Chino wants this girl so bad that he's trying to convince himself that no matter what, he'll get her ("And someday, I'll be with her, I'll be with you, I will") when deep down, he knows he's "sick", as in delusional, when he says this. One more note, the "first star" to be seen in the night sky is the planet Venus, which was the goddess of beauty in Roman mythology. Thus, it might not be his first love, but instead just a reference to how incredibly beautiful the girl is.... just a thought.
I have a feeling that this is the most personal Deftones song for Chino.

This song is pretty straightforward with it's meaning. To me it's about a struggle within your own mind over a relationship with someone you love, or maybe just someone that you've fallen in love with. And no matter how hard you try or how bad you want it, you can't have it but your love is so strong, you want it so bad that you are pretty much in denial of the whole situation and it's killing you on the inside, but you refuse to let go and give up. That's how I interpret this song as, but I guess with Chino's lyrics you never really know.

this song is amazing..it's pretty much clear to me what the meaning is. i think it's about yer first love..and the struggle to get past this relationship...when it's over that is..and i can totally relate.
