Let's take a blast to the moon baby
I sit around wishing you well
How I'm craving you, yeah!
Every time I'm near you
I always want to swallow you down
I'll be right here if ya need me
In my life, ill need you here, don't ask why
I'll never disappear
Why is it every day that I feel the pain?
Lets take a trip to the stars far away
Where were you when I was down?
Staring into the dead
My pain is caused by my pleasure
My soul mate lives in your body
I can't get you out of my head
It never goes away
In my life, ill need you here, don't ask why
I'll never disappear
In your eyes you can bid me farewell
But don't ever try to understand the situation
Why is it everyday that I feel the pain?

Bleh listening to it more sounds like "I always said I'd never feel this way again, but I just keep making the same fucking mistakes over and over and over... I can't believe I thought this would be over"

This song means that he found it, what we all look for, a real feeling of passionate love on every level for someone and it can only be explained if she was indeed his soul mate. For whatever reason, they cannot be together but that does not mean that the thoughts or the love he feels for her ever stops. Sadly for them, it is an impossible love and he knows it. In a desperate attempt to be with her, he suggests taking a trip far away from the reality that keeps them apart but she won’t go. He desperately wants her to know that what he feels is real. He wants her to know that she is tattooed in his brain. He wants her to know that he wants her by his side when times are hard wondering why it can’t be in her arms, close to her heart, that he finds refuge in his dark times. He wants to offer her the same support, that she may find refuge in his arms, close to his heart at well. He has all these good wishes for her. He wants her to know that he desires not only her body but also her soul. When he’s in the same room with her no matter what time of day, she becomes his full moon baby driving him to lunacy with love. He tries to make her understand when she asks what is happening that there is no explanation for what is taking place in his heart or in his head. He wants her to know that he’ll be there if she calls and that he’ll wait for her forever if he has to even though the pain of being without her makes his body physically ache. His ache then turns to anger that makes him regret what he can’t help feeling, that burning, crazy, in-love feeling he had forbidden himself to feel again. Even though he tries to fight himself and this feeling of love at the end of the song, he knows he can’t fight the way he feels. When he sees her again, he knows his heart will melt because it’s all real and it makes him prisoner to a feeling of pleasure for loving her followed by pain because he knows she can’t be by his side.

Maybe it's because he has this vision of the perfect woman and goes out seeking her but can never find her so she just lives in his head in a fantasy world. He just wants to travel to the stars with her, he can do anything with her because she doesn't exist.

    I don't know, I just a thought.

Pff, Ok, I thought I had this one, but I'm not sure.

Facts: -Godsmack are into spirituality and voodoo. -The Moon is a metaphor for Madness. -The song is spilt into a part with lyrics and the awesome instrumental frenzy part.

"The Moon is tought to transform some people into strange people into strange creatures that drive others MAD"...(First Man on the moon) "...or is it all just Lunacy".

Could this be about the all old Werewolves story of being incapable of being near a loved one, because of the danger? "..How I'm craving you" "Every time I'm near you, I always want to swallow you down"

Or about going insane with somehow unreachable love? "Let's take a TRIP to the MOON, baby"

It sounds really confusing, he's asking all kinds of questions "why is it everyday that I feel the pain?" "where were you when I was down?" But tells the one he's talking to not to ask why he needs (her/it?), because he'll go away if he knows.(Go mad?)

Some more info on that serie "Mysterious Forces Beyond" could be very helpful indeed. Apparently the program was hosted by a guy named Nick Mancuso. An actor who had studied psychology before going on professional acting. The clips have to be from the "We are not alone" episode, which covers: Angels, Ghosts and....Vampires!

So, we've come closer! It's about Vampires and their lust for love, and the tragedy of having to drink and ultimately kill your loved one. And it all makes sense in a sudden!

The description comes with a quote: "Few creatures of the night have captured our imagination like vampires, but do they really exist?" And so,"Moon Baby" is the "part 1" of "Vampires" featuring on their follow up album "Awake" Listen to them after one another, for an amazing experience.

Sorry for the long post, but I think was worth it.

hey offdutyninja17, FUCK YOU! u know nothing about godsmack u bible-holdin' fuckin' prick. how is godsmack satanic? "LOOK AT THERE NAME!" there name came from either the cold sore story, or from the song God Smack by the greatest band ever, Alice In Chains. don't judge a book by it's cover asshole. they don't write about the devil. sully writes about himself. the only song not about himself is voodoo which he said is about some movie i can't think of write now cuz i'm too pissed off. fuck u douche bag!

sorry bout bout that every1, but people like that piss me off

I think it's about a girl that he loves with all his heart, but he doesn't know if she feels that way about him too. and he's too shy to ask her if she loves him or to tell her he loves her. that's wut i get out of it cuz i'm goin thru that now.

Has any1 seen them play this live. it's even better. and when the intrumental part kicks in the pit goes fuckin ape shit! they gotta put out a live album.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
