Make up your mind
Decide to walk with me
Around the lake tonight
Around the lake tonight
By my side
By my side
I'm not gonna lie
I'll not be a gentleman
Behind the boathouse
I'll show you my dark secret
I'm not gonna lie
I want you for mine
My blushing bride
My lover, be my lover, yeah

Don't be afraid
I didn't mean to scare you
So help me, Jesus
I can promise you
You'll stay as beautiful
With dark hair
And soft skin, forever
Forever

Make up your mind
Make up your mind
And I'll promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus
(Hey, hey, hey)
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
So help me

Be my angel
Be my angel
Be my angel
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Well, I promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus

kittiesm: And that, my friend, is where the power of interpretation and placing yourself in one's shoes comes in. Yes, that would make sense in the immortality aspect, but look at it from the rapist's mind: You need to lure her in. Attract her, promise her something she just can't refuse. It's the illusion of love without love ever being present. Sweet talk her just like a (happily) married couple might. "Baby, am I fat?" "No, sweetheart. You're just as skinny and gorgeous as the day I met you, and you always will be." Etc., etc. Maybe not the illusion of love in this case, but the illusion of security.

I've never seen the video before but both the vampire and rape "theories" would be plausible were it not for his tone of voice, not to mention the little lines he sneaks in.

"I'll not be a gentleman" Why wouldn't he be a gentleman if it was just about a vampy coming out to his lover?

"So help me, Jesus" I'm using the stereotype, so sue me, but I thought vamps were all DEMONICsoullessEVILLL.

"Give it up to me" Hmm? It only makes it sound like he's trying to take something from her, he's being greedy. If he was just vampin' her, where would this motivation of greed come from? They would both supposedly be benefiting. But this line makes it seem like he'd be getting FAR more from it.

"Do you wanna die?" Mainly because of the tone he uses it with in the song, but, um... correct me if I'm wrong, but it clearly sounds like a THREAT. Not, "lolz we can dies 2getha and b reborn and suck bloooood. :)"

But yeah. I guess that's my two cents.
