A Girl Named Sandoz Lyrics

Well I met a girl called sandoz
And she taught me many many things
Good things, very good things
Sweet things

I met her on a Sunday morning
It was hot though the snow lay on the ground
Strange things, very strange things
My mind has wings

Sandoz sandoz
Will you tell me no?
Sandoz sandoz
Will you tell me why?
We could all learn something from your mind, yeah

She is very old yet many think she's young
One kiss from her and you know your time has come
Good times, for all times
Sandoz

Sorry but i believe you are both mistaken. This song is a cover of the Eric Burdon and the Animals song 'Girl named Sandoz'. The lyrics are drug lyrics, whether they were wriiten while on drugs or just about the effects of drugs. Sandoz was the name of the laboratory in which Albert Hoffman discovered LSD in 1938. The lyrics are very pro-drugs because they are saying that meeting Sandoz (LSD) was beneficial-

'And she taught me many many things Good things Very good things Sweet things'

I think the lyrics do refer to an acid trip, but from the way they describe it I don't think it was a bad trip.

'It was hot though the snow lay on the ground'

-This paradox is something that may be very apparent to somebody on an acid trip.

'We could all learn something from your mind'

-This again hints at the belief that LSD is a good, beneficial thing and suggesting everyone could benefit from it. This man really chooses good songs to cover, 'A night like this', 'Landslide', 'Girl named Sandoz', 'Dancing in the moonlight'.....

Sandoz is also a nickname for LSD in some circles, so I think it has more to do with drugs than an actual woman.

Sandoz was the name of the lab where LSD was first synthesized and its psychedelic properties were fist discovered. They were the first to market it under the name Delysid as a psychiatric drug from 1947 through the mid 1960s.

First of all the title of this song." A girl named Sandoz" if it were written in latin would mean a girl without sorrow or without deceit by the way this name is in all practicality vurtually impossible to live up to if you are human. The name Sandoz comes from the latin words Sine dolo. As it with any work of creation is subjective to the reader or the hearer and to the interpreter of the object in question in this case "A girl named Sandoz",however it has always been my understanding that The girl named "Sandoz" could be interpreted A girl named "LSD" and as it is with any "anyone" that you have a deep relationship with it is always good to find out as much about "them" as well as yourself as you can so you can be prepared remember "She is very old You may think she's young The question isn't who or what a girl named "Sandoz" is or means The question is what is she or it to you because. One kiss from her And you know your time has come"

These guys kind of ruined this song. It's in too high a register, it's played too fast, it's got too much of that 90's alt-rock wall-o'-noise problem. Much prefer the original by Eric Burdon & The Animals.

this is obviously about a girl he met/would like to meet. she could be a hooker or a prostitute or a fan. she taught him 'good things' and 'sweet things'. it was hot although the snow lay on the ground and maybe he was getting high with her because there were 'strange things' and his mind 'has wings' and we could learn something from her mind. she's decieving also because some think she's young although she's old and billy might've even been decieved by her. so it's basically about prostitution/sex, drugs, and lies from my analysis of it.
