Through the satellites, I fight with you
That local brew is spillin'
I know just how you spend your time
I want to get my hands on him
Somebody's party in a London flat
You're where it's at and I know
You want to see me lose my mind

I'm tired of chasing after you
The residue is jealous
See me on the dark side of your mind
I want to get my hands on him
To a club that's pounding in the London rain
The world could end, we won't hear it
I know just what's on your mind

I see the way your face has changed
We're no good for each other
You tricked me into coming here, so let go

I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London
To live there
I don't want to go to London
All your friends afflicted
I don't want to go to London
She's addicted

I saw you with him, I know where you've been
That nose is broken wide open
Your way has got me out of line
I want to get my hands on him
You're so sick just to make me prove
It takes a fight to move you
I know just what's on your mind

It's been this way a thousand years
We torture each other
So why the hell did you call me here?
When you know

I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London
To live there
I don't want to go to London
All your friends afflicted
I don't want to go to London
She's addicted

I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London
'Cause you're not there (I don't want to go to London)
Even when I see you
Somewhere else in London (I don't want to go to London)

I know I've played this game before. They've broken up, but the girl hints to him where she'll be somehow, and he goes there even though he hates to, seeing her flirting with everyone, with her newestlove interest. She does it just to have his attention, she may not even care about the guy she's with, only that she's making this guy jealous

wow - this song is about coke - the numbness, the partying, the internal (and external too) violence. kinda like how 420 is related to amsterdam i guess. the dude is fighting to get his girl away from the scene where all her friends are afflicted... she wants him to join her in her "fun" but he wants no part of it. in fact, he's only pretty sure, that he can't take anymore... (heh)

This is my absolute favorite song of all time, because I relate to it totally. :D This song (in my opnion) is about a girl who is treating her boyfriend like shit. She leads him on, lies to him, and cheats on him. The part "I don't want to go to London, I told you I don't care." isn't exactly saying he doesn't want to go to the country, it means he doesn't want to be sucked into her lies anymore. I have been lied to , cheated on, and lead on, so I know how he feels. :(

I think that this song is about a long-distance relationship gone bad. The guy in the song is so fed up with the girl's games because they have made him jealous, and an overall worse person. "We're no good for each other" Also, he knows that he cannot see her again, because he is sure she will play mind games if he sees her again. He has some left over feelings, but the tone of the song suggests that he's ready to move on. He knows she has somebody else, and "I want to get my hands on him" is a wicked line. Clever song

i can kind of see this clear because i've studied abroad before. i think they decided to stay together and she wants him to move because its become too hard. but he doesnt want to because whats the point in him coming to watch her flirt with all these guys, or this one in particular, through the satellites is like they've been talking on cell phones

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
