"Praise You" as written by Camille D. Yarbrough and Norman Cook....
We've come a long long way together,
Through the hard times and the good.
I have to celebrate you baby,

[Repeat: x2]
I have to praise you like I should.

General CommentSorry scar, but you're wrong, on both accounts. the song was sampled from Take Yo Praise by Camille Yarborough. Although it was about a certain man, it served as a message to all black people during civil rights struggles in the 70s. She only released one CD and made more money on royalties from Fatboy Slim's version than she ever did through her own sales.

General Comment*grin* what a feel good song! it's, uh, about praising friends who've been there through a lot of stuff - good and bad - with you ... yeah. I dig it.

General CommentIt really is a feel good song. The piano in it is just kick-ass too and really makes it. It doesn't really need more complicated lyrics to be able to get through and move you. I always thought it was more of a love song between 2 lovers as opposed to just friends though. "Celebrate you baby" seems more like something you would say, not to just a friend, but to a love interest -- to me anyway.

General CommentThe lyrics are actually from a protest song written to encourage the African-American civil rights' movement. Nothing to do with praising friends or lovers.

General CommentAtfeh, I think you mean the sample from the Fat Albert themesong, it's actually "nah, nah, nah, gonna have a... nah, nah, nah, gonna have a..." The full line is "nah, nah, nah, gonna have a good time!"
