Lady of Mars Lyrics
Well if you love me for beauty
Then I'll stick with the sun, cause at least it will warm my soul
And if you love me for youth
Then to tell you the truth, I'm bored
And if you love me for money
Then get out of my way, cause I've got little enough as it is
But if you love me for love
Then honey I'm yours
I'll meet you at midnight
Forever is not too far
Far away from the Earth's light
I'll take you away to the stars
My lady of Mars
My lady of Mars
Stealer!
Stealing the time that was yours, It was mine
But we ain't quite as dumb as we seem
Dealer!
That dealt us the hand that we can't understand anyway
Liar!
The lies that could slip from her lips that can cause all my pain
Freedom!
If that's your desire then there's no reason why you should stay
And I'll meet you at midnight
Forever is not too far
Far away from the Earth light
I'll take you away to the stars
My lady of Mars
Sunset is quietly fading
As your thoughts give way to the peaceful sound of the night
And in your head someone's saying, “I love you”
The journey is only beginning
And still in my mind I can hear someone singing
Of all the things that they said life was bringing to you
Midnight, while your troubles are sleeping
We'll be well on our way to the dawn
Will be alright, with the future before us
And no one will know where we've gone
Hold tight, the starships are leaving
And I'm still deceiving myself
We're believing in starlight
There's just me, there's just you from now on
My lady, My lady
My lady of Mars
Then I'll stick with the sun, cause at least it will warm my soul
And if you love me for youth
Then to tell you the truth, I'm bored
And if you love me for money
Then get out of my way, cause I've got little enough as it is

This song is about a guy running off with another man's wife he's been having an affair with in the middle of the night to try and make a new life with her. "While your troubles are sleeping, we’ll be well on our way to the dawn," her troubles are her marriage/husband, i.e. leaving while her husband is asleep, driving off into the stars to get her "Freedom".
He was "Stealing the time that was yours" as in making 'time' and getting the sex that was her husband's. "But we (men) ain't quite as dumb as we seem," as her husband must have already suspected she was having an affair. During the evening before shes going to meet him, she's thinking about if she really should leave and the person in her head saying "I love you" is her husband.
The "Dealer, That dealt us the hand that we can't understand anyway" is god/nature, in that most people really don't understand their own nature, instincts and desires, which is the cause of most of their relationship problems.
In the first verses of the song, he's telling her she should not be with him for superficial reasons and she better really love him. But even as "The journey is only beginning" the stealer knows he is deceiving himself into believing that it's going to work out in the long run, because he won't be able to meet her expectations "of all of the things they said life was bringing to you." Her husband couldn't and that's part of why she sought out someone else. So he's worried she will wind up cheating on and leaving him too, thus "The lies that could slip from your lips that can cause all my pain."
