Something in the Orange Lyrics
These things eat at your bones and drive your young mind crazy
But when you place your head between my collar and jaw
I don't know much but there's no weight at all
'Cause if I say I miss you I know that you won't
But I miss you in the mornings when I see the sun
Something in the orange tells me we're not done
Where the hell am I supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home
There's orange dancing in your eyes from bulb light
Your voice only trembles when you try to speak
Take me back to us dancing, this wood used to creak
Where the hell am I supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home
Where the hell am I supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home
The orange touches all things around
The grass, trees and dew, how I just hate you
Please turn those headlights around
Please turn those headlights around

This song is so cute but sad at the same time to me.
To me this song is about a couple getting in a fight, the girl is done, leaves, & the song is from the the perspective of the man who doesn't want her to leave but knows it's too late.
Verse one: is him telling her the fight will be nothing by dusk & when they hug it out he feels no weight.
Verse two: is pretty self-explanatory he feels like if he doesn't tell her he misses her they will drift farther apart but if he does she won't miss him back.
Verse three: (the chorus) is extremely sad & one of the few times we hear the thoughts of a man going through heartbreak this deep
Verse four: he is wanting her to be there when he gets home but she isn't. He wants to go back to them dancing aka the better parts of the relationship.
Verse 5/6: chorus again
Verse 7: her finally leaving & him telling her he hates her for it & please come back.
