Incite a riot, put yourself in a trance
You rotate the frame in a world you rely on
A scar, a line has been drawn in the sand
Behold the life, the boundaries fools will crush
The greatest miracle
Is burning to the ground
Onto the next stage of the plan
Mourn the witness of the wind
A handful of thunder
Will rise one last time
There's fire in the sky
You're in the Amazon
The greatest miracle
Is burning to the ground
Godly Amazonia
Bloody Amazonia
Mighty Amazonia
Killing Amazonia
Godly Amazonia
Bloody Amazonia
Mighty Amazonia
Killing Amazonia
Godly Amazonia
Bloody Amazonia
Burn the land
Learn the end
Burn
Another gold mine is unveiled
The source of our sorrow
Learn
Embedded in these walls of green
Is the curse that we follow
There's fire in the sky
You're in the Amazon
The greatest miracle
Is burning to the ground
You rotate the frame in a world you rely on
A scar, a line has been drawn in the sand
Behold the life, the boundaries fools will crush
Is burning to the ground
Mourn the witness of the wind
A handful of thunder
Will rise one last time
You're in the Amazon
The greatest miracle
Is burning to the ground
Bloody Amazonia
Mighty Amazonia
Killing Amazonia
Godly Amazonia
Bloody Amazonia
Mighty Amazonia
Killing Amazonia
Godly Amazonia
Bloody Amazonia
Learn the end
Another gold mine is unveiled
The source of our sorrow
Learn
Embedded in these walls of green
Is the curse that we follow
You're in the Amazon
The greatest miracle
Is burning to the ground

This one is rather obvious, but the cause is not as well-known. In order to satiate Americans\' gluttony, the Amazon is being slashed and burned to pave the way for grazing pastures to raise beef. If you look at the packaging of a beef product, the country of origin is typically in South America.\n\nI am not vegan, or even a vegetarian, so I am not advocating abstinence from meat, but please be aware of the impact of what you are eating. If you must eat beef, try to limit your intake to locally-raised, humanely-treated, grass-fed cattle. It may cost more, but it is healthier for you and the planet.\n\nTangentially related: one of the best things you can do for this planet is to stop eating seafood. The seafood industry is destroying our oceans. This destruction is causing dramatic negative impacts on climate and biodiversity. For more information, do some reading on how seafood is harvested and the amount of plastic that is dumped in the ocean as a result of this harvest. The amount of bycatch alone is very depressing: about 5 pounds of bycatch (sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, etc.) are killed for every 1 pound of seafood that goes to the market.
I may be stretching a bit, I know the song is about the Amazon, but also the inevitability of humanity\'s desire to consume and feed uncontrollably.\n\nthe lyrics "Embedded in these walls of green, is the curse that we follow"\nhas me thinking that it is humanity\'s inevitable desire to consume and feed off of the resources to drain them completely. This also goes hand with the previous lyrics "another gold mine is unveiled, the source of our sorrow which could mean the land being the goldmine is used for anything that institutions decide to do with, which is a big part of what is hurting nature, or "our sorrow" \n\nI can compare humanity to something such as a Virus as something that feeds off of another being(s) life force to sustain itself until everything has been used up and consumed and the lifeless corpse of what was a being dies and deteriorates into nothing. \n\nThough the thought of maybe sustaining some kind of middle ground of living in a state of sustainability for the human species and the planet and all the other beings would be ideal, but it is humanity\'s inevitable curse to always do too much of one or the other unconsciously as it is also living and with how many humans there are and how many resources they use up simply existing can be hard to sustain.\n\nI think I might be stretching just a bit but this is just what came to mind when I was listening to the song!
