My EP, "The Darkling Plain", was inspired heavily by Greek mythology. All words/terms below are derived from it.
APEIRON is an ancient Greek word & cosmological concept meaning "(that which is) unlimited," "boundless", "infinite", or "indefinite", and "without end", "limit" or "boundary". This eternal space perpetually yields fresh materials; all matter derives from and it is where all matter will eventually return.
"MOTHER OF ALL"- as in the song "Chaos" from the same EP, this refers to the cosmological concept of Chaos, the void state preceding the creation of the universe. In Hesiod's Theogony, Chaos was the first thing to exist, predating the gods themselves, hence the term "Mother of All".
MORPHEUS- the god of sleep.
PTERRIPUS- a winged horse, often replaced incorrectly by "Pegasus", which is the name of a particular pterripus famous in Greek mythology.
ELYSIAN FIELDS- the final resting place of the souls of the heroic and the virtuous.
LITHE- was one of the five rivers of the underworld of Hades. All those who drank from it experienced complete forgetfulness.
