I'm victimised by the images in my I head I thought the mantra

Such simple action to end the nightmares is childish
Now I'm reading Carl Jung to keep the eyelids
Open and when I close 'em maybe The Shadow won't intimidate
Maybe by tomorrow I will know how to assimilate
And maybe The Shadow will vindicate and maybe sooner or later
I will have hit our mental evolution's final state
And maybe I won't suffer the wrath of what I was afraid of
'Cos now it's a part of me like this bed cloth
And I'm a monster in the guise of a man
I know they're synonymous but they will never understand
Slaves afraid and questioning the morality of their actions
And all too happy to look on factions
Of humanity burning away conformity's shackles
With condescending eyes and self-righteous cackles
Spectators of the blind as opposed to one of the kind
With their nose in the bind of the book "No Reason For Rhyme"
But look and see they took to dwellings with foundations in sand
So when the water world has risen they'll be history like dry land
Ya never think it'll happen that's when it gets ya
The gradual increase of internal and external pressure
And when it gets too much you 'bout to blow

This song was inspired by renowned psychologist Carl Jung's "Shadow" archetype. In analytical psychology, the shadow is either an unconscious aspect of the personality that the conscious ego does not identify in itself, or the entirety of the unconscious, i.e., everything of which a person is not fully conscious. In short, the shadow is the unknown side.
The Jungian shadow can include everything outside the light of consciousness and may be positive or negative, but because one tends to reject or remain ignorant of the least desirable aspects of one's personality, the shadow is largely negative.
