Lonely Lyrics

[Verse 1: Justin Bieber]
Everybody knows my name now
But something 'bout it still feels strange
Like looking in the mirror
Tryna steady yourself and seeing somebody else
And everything is not the same now
It feels like all our lives have changed
Maybe when I'm older, it'll all calm down
But it's killing me now

[Pre-Chorus: Justin Bieber]
What if you had it all but nobody to call?
Maybe then you'd know me
'Cause I've heard everything
But no one's listening
And that's just fucking lonely

[Chorus: Justin Bieber]
I'm so lo-o-o-onely
Lo-o-o-onely

[Verse 2: Justin Bieber]
Everybody knows my past now
Like my house was always made of glass
And maybe that's the price you pay
For the money and fame at an early age
And everybody saw me sick
And it felt like no one gave a shit
They criticized the things I did
As an idiot kid

[Pre-Chorus: Justin Bieber]
What if you had it all but nobody to call?
Maybe then you'd know me
'Cause I've heard everything
But no one's listening
And that's just fucking lonely

[Chorus: Justin Bieber]
I'm so lo-o-o-onely
Lo-o-o-onely
I'm so lo-o-o-onely
Lo-o-o-onely

Cover art for Lonely lyrics by Justin Bieber

This introspective track was produced by benny blanco & FINNEAS. It was released on October 16, 2020 and marks Justin's second single in just over a month.

What the artist means The track starts with real minimalist production from Benny and Justin takes the reins to croon about the uncertainties that come with fame. He just wants to be loved for being him and not a worldwide famous popstar. He's so lonely and he makes that crystal clear on this one, he's singing about all the rough times he had while growing up in the spotlight. Everyone saw he was sick but they resorted to bullying and trolling him endlessly, he sounds super hurt and detached on this record. The strings do a masterful job in bringing his pain to wax.

What the song means to me This song is in no way pop, it's pure pain and sees one of the world's most famous musicians bear his soul on q super sad beat. Benny Blanco did a great job with this beat as it let Justin let out all the pain he hid for so long. There's a certain price you pay for money and fame at an early age and Justin is the best person to tell this cautionary tale. The track is sorrowful, well-produced, and brutally honest. It's a sordid masterpiece from one of the most famous yet maligned artists of our generation. I will give this song a rating of 7/10.
