[Chorus 1]
Trying to cut me off at the knees
But no one's getting in my way
You've got nothing to say
Spreading lies like a disease
But you can't say it to my face
You've got nothing to say

[Verse 1]
You latch on, then you run
And when theiy find their one
You wanna hand out poison apples
You think you're in the know
But can't see past your nose
Just stepping stones, you opportunist, oh

[Pre-Chorus 1]
You're so see through
Might as well be a window
You're so see through

[Chorus 1]
Trying to cut me off at the knees
But no one's getting in my way
You've got nothing to say
Spreading lies like a disease
But you can't say it to my face
You've got nothing to say

[Verse 2]
You say you've got a hunch
And you don't support us
This train is moving so get off next stop
Don't you project on me your insecurities
The drama's what gives you purpose

[Pre-Chorus 2]
You're so see through
Might as well be a window
You're so see through

[Chorus 2]
Trying to cut me off at the knees
But no one's getting in my way
You've got nothing to say
Spreading lies like a disease
But you can't say it to my face
You've got nothing to say
You've got nothing to say
You've got nothing to say
Spreading lies like a disease
But you can't say it to my face
You've got nothing to say

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
