Stop Cigarette Litter

Cigarettes are polluting the planet
They hurt animals; for this I won't stand
We don't want cigarette butts in our water
We don't want them on the land
Some folks don't think that butts are litter, but in fact they are
Filters are slow to decompose, and they are full of tar
Animals mistake filters for food
Filters are full of toxins, dude
If an animal ingests a filter, they could die
And all of that animal's friends will cry
Cigarette-induced fires claim the lives of many
Please don't give tobacco companies even one penny
Cigarette makers test on animals; that is bad
Using and killing animals makes me sad
You are a kind person—you don't want to kill
Become a nonsmoker I hope you will
Imagine no cigarette butts anywhere
A clean planet for everyone to share
The world is not a giant ashtray
I hope that you quit smoking today
You are strong—you can find a way
To put smoking behind you into history
Until the day comes when you are a cigarette quitter
Please make sure that ya never, ever litter
Never throw a cigarette butt onto the ground
And pick butts up wherever they are found
Cigarettes are not necessary
Lung cancer is scary
And when people smoke, they are not in solitary
Children see ya smoking, then they start smoking too

Smokers are more likely to develop heart disease
