Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind? (Haha)
Yeah

It's somewhere offshore, it's somewhere on tour
The show must go on 'cause they want an encore
I should be happy here, but I always want more
Mom's house is in Escrow, shut the front door
The fuck is my life?
Feel like the Joker holdin' Harley Quinn
I'd probably do it all again if I could start again
Life gets a little weird here in artist land
While I'm watchin' the world burn holdin' Marlon's hand
The narrator ain't have time for a wife
Said you met me at a very strange time in my life
We could've made this all work if the timing was right
It ain't 2009 no more, when I was rhymin' with Cyph
Life is different, reminiscin' when the lifestyle was simple
When all we needed was an eighth and a Four Loko to get you
But it was never enough, I had to fly through that window
Aim the highest, live the fastest, she couldn't live at my tempo
But here we are

Where is my mind? Uh
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind? Yeah
Tryna hold on before I explode
Might have got lost on this yellow brick road
Where is my mind? Yeah, uh

Lot of, "Who you love most?" While you look 'em in the face though
When the world is burning, saying, "Everything'll be okay, though"
Hardest thing to do, feel like my word is made of Play-Doh
In a world of yes men, it's been getting harder to say no
They'll never understand if they tried to rip apart this
Most managers won't understand the lifestyle of an artist
The price you pay, they'll never comprehend what it charges
It's hard to find a light here, but it's solace in this darkness
Lose my mind on occasion, tend to misplace it
I try to white out my problems, never erased it
I threw a whole lot away while just getting wasted
Some demons hide in plain sight, I still never faced it, but fuck it
This time I'll look the other way
My destiny manifested is where I'm at today
And this is the game that I always loved to play
I'm where I'm supposed to be and I wouldn't have it another way
You know?

Where is my mind? Uh
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind? Yeah
Tryna hold on before I explode
Might have got lost on this yellow brick road
Where is my mind?

Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?

Where is my mind? Uh
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind? Yeah
Tryna hold on before I explode
Might have got lost on this yellow brick road
Where is my mind?

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
