Killing me, killing me
It's killing me slowly

I built these walls to hide my ghosts
Your fingers trace the wounds exposed
I try and try to let you in
But I fail again and again

So I keep you at arm's length and let you go
But I don't wanna give you away
Yeah, I keep you at arm's length and let you go
But only if you promise to stay

You think you know that you know
But you really don't know me (know me)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly (slowly)

And now I can't eat, can't sleep
Knowing that you're not lonely (lonely)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly (slowly)

Killing me, killing me
It's killing me slowly

I run this maze, erase my steps
With lips that lie with every breath
You try and try to let me in
But I hurt you again and again

So I keep you at arm's length and let you go
But I don't wanna give you away
Yeah, I keep you at arm's length and let you go
But only if you promise to stay

You think you know that you know
But you really don't know me (know me)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly (slowly)

And now I can't eat, can't sleep
Knowing that you're not lonely (lonely)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly
Killing me slowly

You're everything I need
I should've known, I should've known
You're everything I need
I should've known (should've known)

You're everything I need
I should've known, I should've known
You're everything I need
I should've known (should've known, should've known, should've known)

You think you know that you know
But you really don't know me (know me)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly (slowly)

And now I can't eat, can't sleep
Knowing that you're not lonely (lonely)
I know you love so hard
And it's killing me slowly (slowly)

You're everything I need, I should've known
(It's killing me, it's killing me, it's killing me slowly)
You're everything I need, I should've known
(It's killing me, it's killing me, it's killing me slowly)

    My Interpretation

To me, it sounds like a guy that had a girl who cared more than he did. Maybe he wasn't emotionally available at the time so she left. Now that she's moved on, he is regretting ever letting her go. And he realizes everything he had a little too late.

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
