First time I read these lyrics and immediately I thought of domestic abuse
@ba35321 Totally agree, at first I thought it was about friendship, but then you realize it's about a split up, and then yeah recoiling in the arms of a cop... It's completely about supporting someone who has survived some kind of abuse and the complex relationships abused people have.
