The video for the song is loosely inspired by a short story from Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges called “The Circular Ruins” (1940) in which a mysterious, anonymous man set himself on a task to dream a human being & make it come to life. Themes present in his story include idealism, immortality & thoughts manifesting in the tangible world. In essence this song warns to be careful what you wish for. Having such a lofty burden of aspiration will likely only end up being a exercise in futility - in other words, a complete waste of time endeavor.
