But I know personally, the frenzy a human mind will disolve into, if you think you don't have long, and I had a whole 6% chance of surviving early stage 4 colon cancer when I was 32, and 33. Basically I was told to prepare for the end of my existence. And do you know what I did? I partied, and I partied hard, and I'm not talking about booze and weed, I mainlined a speedball 2 to 3 times a day, everyday, and I hosted drug fuled orgies, and I fucked a lot of women, and I'm a woman btw. I smoked a hell of a lot a crack when I had cancer, and I swear, being high af was the only thing that kept me from doing myself in, because radiation burns hurt (but they really hurt when they are all over your asshole, and your pussy)was drugs, and getting bitches off. I am The One Lacivious. It was the hedonistic debauchery that kept me going. For the unfortunate humans who had to live during that time of plague, that lustful debachery kept them motivated, because it increased dopamine production, and dopamine is the neurotransmitter that motivates you to seek out reward, and if waking up to see another day is all you ask of life, then hedonistic debachery is where it's at. DM NEVER has had a #1 in the US, but in the Secondary City I reside in, St. Louis (also one of the most dangerous, and I live The City, I'm so used to the sound of gunshots it's kind of sad)DM could sell out Bush Stadium. Ghost couldn't do that, not yet, but they packed Chaifetz Arena, and that ain't no small place, back in February when I was still incarcerated, the bastards couldn't wait for my release date- But here is the comparison; DM uses sexual, and romantic themes to describe things that are not, and Ghost cleverly does the opposite in a LOT of songs. Sex. Drugs. Period. And there is no other reason. For all the depth we pretend to contain, we are all of us, shallow parasitic destroyers, seemingly bent on self annihilation, even as we would never want Him to appear, even as we would we never want this to be over, why are we so destructive? Even in our personal relationships, we will do the most harm to who we claim love for, which brings me to the most simple, and banal, of all the themes woven into Dance Macabre, and it is about a relationship, because at the end of the day, that is what all of our lives are about; the different kinds of personal relationships we all have with other people, because life is about satisfying our own needs, most of which are persistent, and often consuming, and for men in particular, it is my personal belief that sex is an important need, in a way that it is not for women, because we wax and wane until our fertility ends, but men don't. Only aging slows you down, men will go into their graves as old men, still craving hot young ass. It's just male biology. Women get mad about it, and we should stop, because there is enough dick to go around, but I digress. Dance Macabre is also about a relationship at it's end. One person is no longer in love, but the other one is, and they are still so in love, that they are willing to beg, and that's a low emotional place for a man, or a woman, (you'd have to be a narcissist to say that's never been you, but we know they lie about everything) andfor as banal, and commonplace as the experience is, everytime it ever happens, it feels like the end of the world, and it can hurt so much, because is an emotional calamity, that you feel like you're dying, because something in you is dying, and the world isn't ending, but a world is ending, or a world you understand is ending; your world with that person, as that person who is your world, floats out of the orbit of your life, and you might wish magic was real, if it would make that person stay with you, or bring them back. "I want to bewitch you tonight" Everything in life can, and will, be reduced, or reduce itself, to the lowest common denominator, and for the parasites and rats that infest this planet, which, even now is in the throes of death, as we stand on the precipice of extinction ourselves, all that matters to any of us, are the relationships we have with those we love, and all of the different ways that love is expressed. All art can be undressed, and this is what most of it is about; ourselves, and how we relate to other people. Dance Macabre is a beautifuly composed, banal, love song, and it makes me cry. A lot of Ghosts songs do, and they're supposed to, because Tobias Forge is a fucking Genius, and if any of you kids out there are mature enough to have an eclectic taste in music, something that even most adults can not do, Mama Rose is telling you to aquaint yourself with Kate Bush, read the Memoir that Cloudbusting is based on - and I named Papa's blue spangled blazer, that I intend to replicate, because I'm a seamstress as well as a Whore, Cloudbusting/Big Sky, two Kate Bush songs from The Hounds Of Love, which you will be familiar with, because of Stranger Things, but I've been listening to Kate Bush for 26+ years, and I'm telling you, Ghost has more in common with Kate Bush, than any other artist, and I'm not talking about musical genre, two Genius composers of pop music that goes above, and beyond, and the essence it contains, because they are doing similar things, but boys, you are going to have to get over your misogyny, and what you think represents strength, and girls, you need to stop idolizing an imperfect married man who is about as handsome as a foot. Fame is glamorous, and glammer is bad, because it is trickery. Idolize no one but who brought you into being, and nurtured you; Your mother. If you can't idolize her, ladies, idolize yourselves, because a man will destroy you, and patriarchy allows it. I love Ghost, but I love the music, not the man, I don't know him, and trust me, someone, somewhere, is eating a mountain of his bullshit, because Tobias Forge is a human being, and an artist, and as an artist, I can say with some confidence that we are intolerable assholes in some kind of way, especially as it pertains to what we create, and whatever process brings it about, and just because you'll never see that assholery, that doesn't mean it's not there, or that it's not happening. I'm close to 50, I've never been married, and I'm a dedicated Single, because I know what kind of Hell loving me is, and I've got enough heart to not put a man through it. Girls, and women who are still girls, you should think about not fawning over a married man, because you can only love his music, and it hurts me to see women doing that to themselves. What I'm seeing women, and girls doing, as Ghost fans, bothers me in a painful way. Tobias Forge is just a man with incredible talent, and he deserves admiration because he's worked for what he has, and that is where my admiration ends, I don't know him. I'll say it again; never put a man above you, it's destructive. Idolize yourselves, because you are worth it.
