Over It Lyrics

After all this time
You still couldn't recognize
That your problem lies within
In a vicious circle

Can you tell me why
Why you've thrown it all away
Cos it makes no sense to me
Why you wouldn't listen

I know it hurts
I tried to help to ease your pain
I know these words
They won't mean anything
I hope it hurts
You've only got yourself to blame
And I can't take this anymore
I'm over it
So over it

Watching you decline
What were you expecting
I can't save you from yourself
When you don't want saving

It's on your head
Don't point the finger point the blame
Cos the warning signs were clear
You just wouldn't listen

I know it hurts
I tried to help to ease your pain
I know these words
They won't mean anything
I hope it hurts
You've only got yourself to blame
And I can't take this anymore
I'm over it
So over it

Breathe in, breathe out
I feel it coming round again
Breathe in, breathe out
Don't wanna ride your carousel
Breathe in, breathe out
Don't know how much more I can take
Breathe in, breathe out
Just stop cos I'm about to break

I know it hurts
I tried to help to ease your pain
I know these words
They won't mean anything
I hope it hurts
You've only got yourself to blame
And I can't take this anymore
(I'm over it)

I know it hurts
I tried to help to ease your pain
I know these words
They won't mean anything
I hope it hurts
You've only got yourself to blame
And I can't take this anymore, anymore
I'm over it
So over it
I'm over it
So over it
I'm over it

Cover art for Over It lyrics by Bullet for My Valentine

This song seems to be about being in a relationship with someone who is self destructive. You decide you can't take it anymore, as the person seemingly doesn't want help when you offer it. It's about saying you're over it with this person, as tough of a decision as it may seem, you know staying with them may end up destroying you both in the long run. It's just getting way too toxic.

My Interpretation
Cover art for Over It lyrics by Bullet for My Valentine

This song is about Matt Tuck's ex-wife, as he has mentioned in many interviews during the promotion of Gravity that he has "done an Adele" and made a break-up record. Most of Gravity centers around their divorce. Matt has been pretty tight-lipped about everything on social media but the song implies his wife was mentally ill and refusing treatment. Lyrically this is the second time Tuck has addressed the concept of someone refusing treatment for addiction/mental health issues in BFMV songs, the other being "The Last Fight."
