Idontwannabeyouanymore Lyrics
Don't be that way
Fall apart twice a day
I just wish you could feel what you say
Show, never tell
But I know you too well
Kind of mood that you wish you could sell
If teardrops could be bottled
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
If "I love you" was a promise
Would you break it, if you're honest
Tell the mirror what you know she's heard before
I don't wanna be you anymore
Hands getting cold
Losing feeling's getting old
Was I made from a broken mold
Hurt, I can't shake
We've made every mistake
Only you know the way that I break
If teardrops could be bottled
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
If "I love you" was a promise
Would you break it, if you're honest
Tell the mirror what you know she's heard before
I don't wanna be you
I don't wanna be you
I don't wanna be you anymore
Fall apart twice a day
I just wish you could feel what you say
Show, never tell
But I know you too well
Kind of mood that you wish you could sell
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
If "I love you" was a promise
Would you break it, if you're honest
Tell the mirror what you know she's heard before
I don't wanna be you anymore
Losing feeling's getting old
Was I made from a broken mold
Hurt, I can't shake
We've made every mistake
Only you know the way that I break
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
If "I love you" was a promise
Would you break it, if you're honest
Tell the mirror what you know she's heard before
I don't wanna be you
I don't wanna be you
I don't wanna be you anymore

idontwannabeyouanymore by Billie Eilish portrays a feeling that I, and many others are very well acquainted with. A feeling, that we as people, no matter how much , or, in whatever way we improve ourselves, will never be as perfect as we wish we were. Sometimes we wonder if we were just made to be broken. And, society’s social weights on fashion and body standards for both men and women equally weighs upon our already heavy consciousnesses. We break ourselves further through intense self- deprecation because the standards forced upon us by others warps our perception of ourselves. In reality, no one is perfect or wrong. Similar to that of art, we as people are subjective. One must simply take the steps to analyze and see a person for who they really are to truly appreciate the beauty that comes from within.

idontwannbeyouanymore by Billie Elish make me think of all the children who see famous people on Television or hear people talking about them and say that they want to be just like them. However the kids don't know what sacrifices are included with some of the jobs of the people they look up to. And as many models, for example, tell their mirror they aren't good enough or aren't pretty enough. I like to believe that some people realize the risks included with everything and know that words are just word and mirrors have the ability to distort what is looking back at you based off of those words.
