Loving the parallels with I Remember You — "I'm not okay, in fact I'm sick today" is directly the same, and "I'm on the floor" in The Same is followed by "but I'm just there to explore" in I Remember You :)
"I was a girl" the was implies that its in past tense, possibly either implying the singer is now an adult or they are not a girl anymore
"I'll be downstairs let me do my hair And put my makeup on, it feels so wrong You say 'Rock on' I'm not the same" this part very much seems like its about gender dysphoria; doing your hair and makeup to look feminine, having this encouraged by people around you but it feels "so wrong"

I think this song could imply many things, first is that the singer was happy when they were younger “I was a girl, I was the only kid on the world.” And as they got older they got introduced to a world of drugs and alcohol etc, maybe she went out clubbing as it implies that she’s getting ready to go out at some points in the song “let me do my hair and put my make up on.” And then the singer says it feels so wrong which could mean she misses being a girl and the innocence she felt in those years of her life, the other part is “you say, rock on” could be a parental figure saying goodbye to her as she goes clubbing. Then when the singer says “everybody wants you, yeah everybody loves you.” Could mean that a lot of people come on to her when she goes out and when she says “your smile your teeth your hair they don’t know your not there.” Could mean that she is on drugs and “isn’t really there” which brings me back to “I’m not okay, in fact I’m sick today I’m on the floor” could mean that she is so sick from drinking and doing drugs constantly but no one cares enough to help her. “Too fast, too slow, too late.” Could show that she is so intoxicated after clubbing that she never manages to make it home on time.
