Don't you need me
Oh baby boy
'Cause I'm so happy
Without your noise

Baby, now my head is on backwards
And my feet at funny angles
And every time I take a step
We're moving forwards faster
And lately I can't take it

Baby, now my body's in tatters
In an ordinary fashion
And everything I tried to leave behind
Is still beside us
But lately I can't take it

Leftover breakfast, cereal for lunch
She is broken but she's fun
My girl eats mayonnaise
From a jar when she's gettin' blazed

Don't you need me
Oh, baby boy
'Cause I'm so happy
Without your noise

Lazy, and lyin' on your belly
With a super pump cola
Lookin' at your folding clothes
You've worn for three days over
With a cookie as a coaster

Maybe, I wish I could've mold ya
To vertical and golden
But you do the Styrofoam and
So it hurts to say it's hopeless
And we ain't gonna make it

Leftover breakfast, cereal for lunch
She's broken but she's fun
My girl eats mayonnaise
From a jar when she's gettin' blazed

She's drunk on old cartoons
Liquid TV afternoons
Sometimes it makes me laugh
Sometimes it makes me sad

Don't you need me
Oh baby boy
'Cause I'm so happy
Without your noise

Don't you need me
Oh, baby boy
'Cause I'm so happy
Without your noise

Baby, now my head is on backwards
Baby, now my head is on backwards
Oh baby, now my head is on backwards (I'm so happy)
Baby, now my head is on backwards (I'm so happy)

Don't you need me
Oh, baby boy
'Cause I'm so happy
Without your noise

    My Interpretation

I am not sure, but I imagine this song is about a girl who smokes weed.

"'Cause I'm so happy without your noise" I imagine the girl is talking to the boy, saying how much she hates him nagging her about her life choices. She is "so happy" when he isn't there nagging her.

"Baby, now my head is on backwards & my feet at funny angles, every time I take a step for moving forwards faster." I am not really sure about this part of the song, but maybe they are describing how she feels when she is stoned? I'm not sure.

"Well lately, I can't take it. Baby, but my body's in tatters, in an ordinary fashion." I have no clue what this means. Usually when a person says "I can't take it," they are talking about the overwhelming feeling of life itself (ha another song on this album), so maybe the girl is saying how smoking weed is messing with her mind and body. "my body's in tatters" probably explains my suggestion.

"And everything I tried to leave behind is still beside her. Hit me, I can take it." Now, I also have no idea what the first sentence means. My gut tells me it's very deep and meaningful, but I just can't seem to connect the dots. Maybe he was in a relationship with her, but he's trying to leave that part of his past now, but he realizes that she's the past he's trying to leave behind? I have no idea, but that suggestion is enough for me. "Hit me, I can take it" has a 99.9% chance of relating to hitting a blunt. Maybe she is saying, "Yeah, this drug ruined my physical and mental health, but give me another blunt, I can take it."

"Leftover breakfast, cereal for lunch. She's broken but she's fun. My girl eats mayonnaise from a jar when she's getting' blazed." I am not sure about the first sentence, so I'm just going to skip that because I am sure about the next two. "She's broken but she's fun" seems a little obvious, the drug is breaking her, piece by piece, but she's fun to be around. When you get stoned, you Mary Jane munchies, as my stoner friend likes to call it. Stoners just like to eat everything in sight when they hit a blunt. So, she eats mayo out of the jar because of her munchies, while she is "getting blazed," or stoned.

"Lazy, layin' on your belly, with a super cool cola. Looking at your phone in clothes you've worn for three days over, with a cookie as a coaster." I assume this applies to the incredibly unhealthy character of this song. She's just laying there on the couch on her stomach with a nice cold soda. She hasn't changed clothes or showered in days, and she doesn't care to, because she's on her phone. She has a literal cookie as a coaster, showing her apathy towards personal hygiene.

"Maybe, I wish I could remold you, to vertical and golden." He wishes he could change her for the better. He wishes he could get her standing up, or vertical, and golden, or outside in the sun.

"But you turned to Styrofoam and so it hurts to say it's hopeless. And we ain't gonna make it." Styrofoam is awful for the environment. You know what else is awful for the environment? Pot. Additionally, styrofoam is not bendable or flexible. It either stays the shape it was molded in or it breaks in two. Just like the protagonist. She is either going to stay the way she is, or "break," however you want to interpret break. Because of this, the relationship will not last long.

"She's drunk on old cartoons. Liquid TV afternoons." The old cartoons television provides will flow through the TV in a steady, unending stream. Kind of like liquid. She will reach the third episode of the second season in no time.

"Sometimes it makes me laugh, sometimes it makes me sad." Her behavior sometimes makes him laugh, "Ha, that's my girl!" And sometimes is makes him sad, "She's destroying herself inside and out with these actions."

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
