The "rat - tat - tat" vocals are very reminiscent of some early song tracks, I remember a very similar vocal passage on either a few of the songs from their first three albums.

I think this song is about how people's feelings are dragged down by others and every day they are getting angrier and angrier. The only way they're ever gonna relieve their pain and suffering is by seeing the people they hate get hurt.
