Doing It to Death Lyrics

Baby save it, we're wasted
I know we gotta slow it down
But when the waves come you face them
And you know we can't stop it now

Heads up we're in a dead club
Put your hands up and do your dipsy and dropsy
And line up, we're hanging up
We're double sixing it, night after night
Doing it to Death

Doing it to Death

Baby lately the plans we're making
Are the shape of things that never come
Hold your horses, the lights up

Can't feel it coming back around
Listen up it's picking up
Put your hands up and do your kicksy and lipsy
Your time's up, we're hanging up
We're double sixing it, night cause tonight

Doing it to Death
Doing it to Death

We're double sixing it night after night after night
We're double sixing it night after night after night
We're double sixing it night after night after night

Doing it to Death
Doing it to Death
Doing it to Death

I would say it is about a couple that are too deep in the alcohol and drug scene and are literally doing it to death. I mean the first line saying "We're wasted." Then the line of regret and knowing that they "have to slow it down." but the waves and urge keep coming and they know they can't stop it now. But my favorite line through the whole song is "We're double sixing it, night after night" Pretty much digging their own graves (6 feet under) night after night. Killing themselves through over-indulgence.

Of course that is just my interpretation. Great song though and that guitar rift is just intoxicating in itself.

Sick song (and video). Dark and and sexy in that classic Kills way. Love the guitar and harmonies

Any ideas about what 'double sixing' means?

@rockmelons double six is a hotel/bar in indonesia so maybe 'double sixing night after night' means hitting a bar night after night?

@rockmelons

Referring to both of them eventually being buried six feet under, most likely.

@rockmelons

Hince clarifies that it is a dice reference, “Because once you roll a double six, you’ve got to roll again… Metaphorical dice.”

Considering the references to being wasted, not being able to stop, and lining up... I think "double sixing" is a reference to doing lines of cocaine.

Super sexy song, though.
