Take Me Home Lyrics
Wrapped up, so consumed by all this hurt
If you ask me, don't know where to start
Anger, love, confusion, roads that go nowhere
I know there's somewhere better 'cause you always take me there
Came to you with a broken faith
Gave me more than a hand to hold
Caught before I hit the ground
Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now
But would you take the wheel if I lose control?
If I'm lying here, will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Will you hold me now? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home? Will you take me home?
Hold a gun to my head, count 1, 2, 3
If it helps me walk away then it's what I need
Every minute gets easier the more you talk to me
You've rationalized my darkest thoughts, yeah you set them free
Came to you with a broken faith
Gave me more than a hand to hold
Caught before I hit the ground
Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now
But would you take the wheel if I lose control?
If I'm lying here, will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Will you hold me now? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home?
You say space will make it better and time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever and soon I wouldn't feel like I'm haunted, oh falling
You say space will make it better and time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever and soon I wouldn't feel like I'm haunted, oh falling
You say space will make it better and time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever and soon I wouldn't feel like I'm haunted, oh falling
Will you take the wheel if I lose control?
If I'm lying here, will you take me home?
Could you take care of a broken soul?
Will you hold me now? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home? Will you take me home?
Will you take me home? Will you take me home?
Oh, will you take me home?
Will you take me home?
If you ask me, don't know where to start
Anger, love, confusion, roads that go nowhere
I know there's somewhere better 'cause you always take me there
Gave me more than a hand to hold
Caught before I hit the ground

Like the other commenter, this song is majorly about overcoming adversity, and top of it all, being with someone who can help this individual think rationally rather than overthink their situation. Take Me Home translates to breaking free and finally finding yourself and returning to a warmer and better place, not just physically but mentally and emotionally too. Glynne herself explained on another track in her album "Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself" that she was in a dark place when that was written and this song is probably another page from her story, to make it somewhere and someplace.
Everything about this is so real. This song honestly sounds more like actual words instead of lyrics, like someone who's been struggling for so long has fallen to their knees in front of someone who's been completely unaware that they were falling apart, and they're crying uncontrollably and spilling their heart to the last emotion. There's no complexity to the songwriting or the production, because none of this is being dressed up as something easier for the listener to handle. All of it comes straight from the very saddened, distraught, and broken mind of a victim to their own life. The title is just the perfect way to sum up that desperation to be freed and exposed. I love this song so,so much.
