Do You Feel It?

I think it's a form of admitting vulnerability. Either they were in a relationship before, or the vocalist was enamoured with someone but didn't know how to show it in ways that didn't break down the reciever/come across as nasty. They don't know how to feel without this other person

At the end of S2:E3 "Auto Erotic Assimilation" of Rick and Morty this song is played after Rick has been dumped by his hive-mind girlfriend Unity. He goes into the garage, bodges something together, pulls out a little frozen cronenberg creature, defrosts it with some liquid, drinks the rest of said liquid, pets the cronenberg and vaporizes it with his new creation (timed perfectly with the music, the beat before the first chorus) and goes on to reset the machine and place his head in it passing out right before it kills him.

It sounds silly but is one of the funniest shows ever made and this song fits into that episode perfectly... Definitely worth checking out !!!

This song for me is about vulnerability in a relationship.

I think this song is about the subtleties of catching feelings for someone. When the feeling is there during each encounter and you're not sure if the other feels the same thing, yet you're pretty sure they feel something (you're always talking but you're not playing, it doesn't match your face). I think this person wants to get away from the state of being lonely, and us asking to be taken away from it by the person being sung to. Being built of metal is putting on a face like nothing matters, but when she sees this other person, they can't help but care and thus are vulnerable in ways that they usually aren't.

I think when she asks if they are afraid, they are trying to see if their thoughts/feelings/desires are too much for the other person.

She wants to be with this person so that being "left" or "left out" by them is something that would significantly damage her dream of being together.

When she says she can see the other person's soul, that is also a nudge at "I know there's something here on both ends regardless of what you choose to do about it".

Makes me think of a youthful kind of love it's young, wild and free It's scary, but sometimes you feel invincible, and then it gets too real

but get too close and it could burn u

That's why being open and real is scary coz what if that fire destroys everything "Are you afraid of me now?"
