Where Do I Begin Lyrics
All right
At least you cried
A point of pride
Has torn in two
What was weak
Where me meets you
From where we end
To where do I begin
We're so alone
We're never alone
Forever in debt
To the stomach, I guess
When things can't be known
Our paths overgrown
From where we end
To where do I begin
Why can't we tell
When we're in hell?
Why can't I say something
To make you well?
When things can't be seen
Confined within a dream
From where we end
To where do I begin
From what was left behind
To you're my friend
I won't ever, ever, ever
Fall apart like that again
From where we are
To where do I begin
At least you cried
A point of pride
Has torn in two
What was weak
Where me meets you
From where we end
To where do I begin
We're never alone
Forever in debt
To the stomach, I guess
When things can't be known
Our paths overgrown
From where we end
To where do I begin
When we're in hell?
Why can't I say something
To make you well?
When things can't be seen
Confined within a dream
From where we end
To where do I begin
To you're my friend
I won't ever, ever, ever
Fall apart like that again
From where we are
To where do I begin

I love the ending
"Star Wars" will probably be my most listened album of the year. I love the flow, track after track. "Where Do I Begin" comes into view, and it's a heart-wrenching experience to say the least. At first listen, it does appear to be addressing the frustrations of relationships. You never know how the other person really feels, maybe you don't even know how YOU feel, and the narrator seems to eventually want to end it so that he can feel like himself again.
But on the other hand, I like to see this song as a conversation with oneself. It's about coming to terms with letting go of your mistakes and regrets, and beginning a new journey. I think the beautiful, wordless outro to this track highlights that notion. It sounds like the theme of standing up, getting on your feet and waving a bittersweet goodbye to your regret-filled past.
