So the song name itself Polarize usually can also be thought of as a polar opposite or something along that nature. He wants help polarizing to help change things from how they are. He wants to get away from the 'stairs' I understand but I feel I can't place an exact point on what he is meaning with it metaphorically. He states that he wishes he 'was a better brother, better son' and helping defeat the 'evil I have done'. To myself, I see it as these are examples of his past sins that he wants to either redeem or erase.

Domingo en fuego translates to Sunday on Fire 'I think I lost my halo' could be referring to something along religious lines, for instance the whole our mind and body being a spiritual battle ground where our should is fought for. And Sunday on fire sounds like the idea of the church in flames, which is pretty bad, added to the halo lyrics sounds like stuff is not great right now, thus why he wants to be polarized.

My take

My Interpretation

Sunday on fire could actually mean the complete opposite. Which would be very good. Not a church literally in flames, but "on fire". Burning with the fire of the holy spirit, but I think in this song what you say might fit better. He's lost his halo, and if the church is burning down metaphorically, then maybe he is losing his love, his passion for God. Sundays aren't the same anymore when you aren't hungry for him. When you aren't interested like the yesterdays. Or maybe like I've witnessed myself, your church can be on fire, and the presence of...

@alex978103 The battle is between our flesh and our spirit. The band members are christian and in our religion we sin when we associate with our flesh. He is asking God to help polarize the two or as you said separate the two compleatly. As for the Better brother better son he is referring to us. We are his brothers in Christ and by sinning he feels he let us down. And he is a son to God who he feels he let down as well. Thats why on Sundays he is on fire with the holy spirit...

I think the big picture meaning of this song is trying to figure out your own value system-what's important to you, what you think is right and wrong. It seems like he's asking God to help him figure it out, but it's hard cause he's falling away from God. He just wants to be a better person and turn away from his sin("want to be be a better adversary to the evil I have done.") The one he loves that he's referring to is God, I think. Also I think the "my friends and I have problems" is him trying to include his fans in it so they feel like they can relate to it since we're all acing the battle of finding our morality.

James 4:6-8

I think he want's to help everyone by stopping being himself in a human form and become something else by polarizing into the earth. And to help his friends with his problems maybe? XD

Song Meaning

I kind of think this song is an apology (I wanted to be a better brother, better son). In the second verse, Tyler talks about what 'polarize' means to him. He says: "Polarize is taking your disguises, separating 'em, splitting 'em up from wrong and right, it's deciding where to die and deciding where to fight". Polarize is, too me, a song about trying to be a better person, fix your mistakes. Similar to Fairly Local where he discusses knowing the difference between evil and good, I guess. Also, I feel like this song is connected to Addict With A Pen. Bottom line... Moving on taking control of these problems, which could essentially for this album mean kicking Blurryface out.

My Opinion

I think by polarize he means to hide, so no one really sees him and his problems, hi is using a disguise because although he wants to defeat his demons he is afraid and is avoiding it instead. Have you seen polarized windows? you can se the persons but they cant see you.

After listening to the song a couple times I realized it’s talking about Bipolar Disorder, in which someone’s personality is split into manic and depressive. The lyrics “deciding where to fight and deciding where to die” are talking about manic episodes versus depressive ones. The other lyrics may be hinting at how, just like with other mental health disorders but especially this one, “hiding all my problems” is easier or just better than facing it. It also seems to tell how someone close finding out about the disorder is scary and makes you feel like you “lost your halo” and you need help and for someone to come “find you.”

In Migraine (Vessel), there is a line "Sunday's are my suicide days," and in this song, "Domingo en fuego" translates to: Sunday is on fire.

It can be helpful to replace the world polarize with distinguish, to distinguish between what is truly good and truly evil.
