Electric Love Lyrics
Candy, she is sweet like candy in my veins
Baby, I am dying for another taste
And every night my mind is running around her
Thunder’s getting louder and louder
Baby, you’re like lightning in a bottle
I can't let you go now that I got it
And all I need is to be struck
By your electric love
Baby, your electric love
Electric love
Drown me
You make my heartbeat like the rain
Surround me
Hold me deep beneath your way
And every night my mind is running around her
Thunder’s getting louder and louder and louder
Baby, you’re like lightning in a bottle
I can't let you go now that I got it
And all I need is to be struck
By your electric love
Baby, your electric love
Electric love
Rushing through me
Feel your energy rushing through me
Feel your energy rushing through me
Baby, you’re like lightning in a bottle
I can't let you go now that I got it
And all I need is to be struck
By your electric love
Baby, your electric love
Electric love

One of my favorite recent songs, this song is about the state of being in love with someone. Although his love is platonic as "all I need is to be struck by your electric love", he is still happy and his every part feels in love with her. He thinks her every night and these thoughts are so loud that he can't ignore them. The references to electricty in this song is actually a metaphor. He doesn't want to loose love (lightning in a bottle) after all those time he spent searching it. Electricity's property of strucking is a property that love also has so just like electricty strucks people, intense feelings towards this girl also have strucken him.
@entpdidem ~♡~ You nailed it! She Has Awoken Him To TRUE LOVE! I have been lucky to have found true love in this life. Before My Love awoke I never knew what True Love really felt like. True love can't be put into words... Metaphorical relation is almost able to describe True Love but still falls drastically short.

If you are blessed to find "True Love" with another it is the most amazing, beautiful, supernatural feeling that two people can share. The official music video is the best medium for absorbing the true meaning of this song. The lyrical metaphors coupled with the artistic visuals can give One who has yet to experience True Love a vauge understanding of what an amazingly indescribable experience it is.
Lol. This song is not about love. This about drugs. More than likely IV drugs. "Sweet like candy in my veins" "I can't let you go now that I got it" "Every night my mind is running around her" and compulsion to do them.
Even the Album is called "Dopamine"
@blatanthonesty - Dopamine is a chemical produced in the brain in anticipation of pleasure. You can't shoot up dopamine. Throughout the entire album, Borns is actually talking about the anticipation of the euphoria that love, sex, and connecting with his lover gives him. It not about being addicted to drugs, it's about being overwhelmingly in love/lust with another person.

@blatanthonesty OH MY GOD! Thank you! I love this song but I didn't pay attention to the lyrics until I was listening through my headphones. It's a cleverly disguised drug song. To thatsnotmyname, correct dopamine is a chemical produced in the brain. It's what drugs mimic. So your argument is flawed.

LOL!!! This song is not about love. It’s about lust! Candy in my veins - what he’s feeling is euphoric like a drug. Just waiting for the next hit. As you know, this is not long lasting, the guy always needs the next hit to feel better. So, truthfully, he doesn’t love her, he’s just using her. Like an addict uses drugs.
