I got a girl crush
Hate to admit it but
I got a heart rush
Ain't slowing down
I got it real bad
Want everything she has
That smile and that midnight laugh
She's giving you now

I want to taste her lips
Yeah, 'cause they taste like you
I want to drown myself
In a bottle of her perfume
I want her long blonde hair
I want her magic touch
Yeah, 'cause maybe then
You'd want me just as much
I got a girl crush
I got a girl crush

I don't get no sleep
I don't get no peace
Thinking about her
Under your bed sheets
The way that she's whispering
The way that she's pulling you in
Lord knows I've tried
I can't get her off my mind

I want to taste her lips
Yeah, 'cause they taste like you
I want to drown myself
In a bottle of her perfume
I want her long blonde hair
I want her magic touch
Yeah, 'cause maybe then
You'd want me just as much
I got a girl crush

I got a girl crush
Hate to admit it but
I got a heart rush
It ain't slowing down

    Memory

When I was 17, I was madly in love with a boy like me. He was the best thing happened to me ever in my life. We were so in love and very happy together, but in the closet in a very homophobic country. He finally decided to marry a girl and make his family happy. I was broken and damaged. I always listened to this song in those painful years. I wished he could have chosen me over his girl and his family's expections no matter how risky it was. I have been living far from him for a few years now, but I still miss and love him a lot. I wish him a lot of happiness and peace in his life though.

    My Interpretation

This song, in my opinion, is about a girl who is in love with a guy but he chooses someone else. The "other" girl is crushed by the fact that the guy doesn't want her. She's trying to understand what he sees in his current girlfriend that she doesn't have. She's jealous that the other girl is able to make him happy when that is all that she wants to do. She wants to be in that position. She creates this scenario in her head that maybe if she had the right hair or the right personality that "maybe then" he'd want her too. Its a really sad song. Having been in that position recently I can definitely relate to it.

About wanting to get close to a guy so badly, she'd even kiss his girl just to taste him on her lips, and try to slowly become her by wearing her perfume, etc. Crazy!

    My Interpretation

Looking through the lyrics there's only one place, "I want to taste her lips Yeah, 'cause they taste like you", where the singer even eludes to wanting to be with the other girl and this was only b/c she tasted like the man in question. Overall this is a story of a girl who's jealous of / longing to take the place of the girl in the relationship she's watching from the outside in.

    My Interpretation

When I first heard this via the commercial video I was impressed by the quality of the song, and it never occurred to me it was anything but a song about a woman wanting to be like another woman who has some man's attention in the hope of gaining his attention for herself. Then I found there were some who thought it was a lesbian song and I thought they obviously hadn't listened to the lyrics. Then I came here and checked the full text. Strangely, even though it seems obvious, and even though the artists say "This woman is looking at the woman her man left her for.." there is nothing in the lyrics to exclude the idea that it could be about three women. I am not saying it is, and I don't think it is, but the interpretation cannot be excluded. Yep, it could even be sung by a gay man in love with a straight guy he can't have. The conclusion is that it is a genius song because it can be related to in many ways.

    My Opinion

This song would be pretty if it was just composed of the first and third parts.

I view these lyrics a little differently. I believe the lyrics are talking about a girl who is in a cheating relationship with a married man but recognizes that is as far as the fling will go. She wants more, but feels the guy will never leave his wife. So, she talks about the many things she is jealous of in regard to what the wife experiences in their marriage.
