Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

Tonight we're fasting fast
I just wanna make this last
If I could say the things that I wanna say
I'd find a way to make you stay
I'd never let you get away
Catch you in all the games we've played

So go ahead, rip my heart out
Show me what love's all about
Go ahead, rip my heart out
That's what love's all about

I want you to want me this way
And I need you to need me to stay
If you say that you don't feel a thing
If you don't know
Let me go
Oh oh oh way oh
Oh oh oh way oh
Oh oh oh way oh
Let me go, oh oh
If you don't know, then just let me go

Let's forget the past
I swear we'll make this last
'Cause I remember the taste of your skin tonight
And the way that you looked, you had those eyes
I remember the way it felt inside
And the names of the songs that made you cry

You would scream, we would fight, you would call me crazy
I would laugh, you were mad, but you always kissed me
And the shirt that I had, that you always borrowed
When I woke, it was gone, there was no tomorrow

I want you to want me this way
And I need you to need me to stay
If you say that you don’t feel a thing
If you don’t know
Let me go (oh oh oh way oh) x3
Let me go (oh oh)
If you don’t know, then just let me go
Go ahead rip my heart out, if you think that’s what love’s all about
Go ahead rip my heart out, go ahead rip my heart out
(x2)
I want you to want me this way
And I need you to need me to stay
If you say that you don’t feel a thing
If you don’t know
Let me go (oh oh oh way oh) x3
Let me go (oh oh)
If you don’t know, then just let me go

    Song Meaning

I don't know why but this song reminds me of the movie 500 days of summer. Basically the girl doesn't care about him as much as he cares about her. He wants to fight for her and beg her to stay but then also wants her to want to stay. Or maybe it's reverse and he's leaving her and she's not fighting hard enough for them to make their relationship right. But he doesn't want to leave. He wants this to work and he loves her but they are just fading apart.

In the move 500 days of summer it's basically the same thing. Watch the movie and yea you'll think the same way.

It's just my opinion don't judge. Okay? Yea? Cool.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
