In my opinion this song is exactly what it is. He misses his companion and it wants to gove it another try. He wants her to know he's still here for her. "I've got a bad heart" means he is possibly weak when it comes to her he wabts her he'll try again and do whatever it takes for her to love him again.

My boyfriend felt bad I couldn't get this on RSD and surprised me randomly. As soon as I got home I put this in my record player and got chills.

I don't know why exactly but this song makes his voice sound haunting almost.
