My Demons Lyrics

Mayday! Mayday!
The ship is slowly sinking
They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling
They're all around me,
Circling like vultures
They wanna break me and wash away my colors
Wash away my colors

Take me high and I'll sing
Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay)
We are one in the same
Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away)
Save me if I become
My demons

I cannot stop this sickness taking over
It takes control and drags me into nowhere
I need your help, I can't fight this forever
I know you're watching,
I can feel you out there

Take me high and I'll sing
Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay)
We are one in the same
Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away)
Save me if I become
My demons

Take me over the walls below
Fly forever
Don't let me go
I need a savior to heal my pain
When I become my worst enemy
The enemy

Take me high and I'll sing
Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay)
We are one in the same
Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away)
Save me if I become
My demons

Take me high and I'll sing
Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay)
We are one in the same
Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away)
Save me if I become
My demons

theres no hate(need/end), there is no love. And only dark skies that hang above. I call your name ot and woke alone. Send us signals to guide us home. Light the night up.You're my Dark Star and now you're finally awake(falling away).

-but now.found in you what is lost in me, in our world so cold and empty.

I could lie awake just to watch you breathe in the dead of night, you go dark on us.

your're the cause. the antidote. the sinking ship and I cannot let go. you led my way and disappeared. how could you just walk away and leave me here?

Song Fact

the 2 persons have a side there is 2 of you is called my demons

Memory
Cover art for My Demons lyrics by Starset

I believe that the song is about someone who needs help or wants help from someone or something. They are fighting their demons (inner demons) and needs saving that they may or may not be getting.

Piece by piece analysis:

Part 1: They feel that their demons taking over but nobody is able to see that they are. "They" representing those demons

Chorus: This could either be someone who is saving this person or a person that the singer is hoping for that can help them escape from their demons

Part 2: Back to talking about the demons again. When they mention that they can see "you" out there, they could be talking about the same person in the chorus, although this may show that the person is hypothetical because of how they say "I can feel you out there" or "I know you're watching". This could also be someone in their life that isn't helping them but knows of his demons. It's kinda complex and ambiguous, but I think it could be either.

Chorus: See above

Part 3: This seems like he is almost fantasizing about a life with someone helping him and no demons to worrying about. Then he transitions back to real life, talking about how he needs a savior or saving from when he "becomes his own worst enemy" and when his demons take over.

Chorus 2x: See above

This is just my analysis and what I see in it. If I'm wrong about something or if you see something different, feel free to comment or correct if I messed something up. This is an amazing song, very deep, very emotional, the song really strikes a chord with me and I connect with the subject matter very much. Overall it's a really great song.

My Interpretation

That makes a lot more sense than what was popping in my head.

is you of you own demons self demons yourself demons is my demons that is the meaning of my demons

Memory

The reference to becoming his own worst enemy is the key, I think. Something which he's referring to as his demons, is dragging him under, which could be a bad relationship, mental illness, drug abuse, etc. He's terrified of giving in to it.

His one hope is the person (or thing?) he sees as a would-be savior. "We are one in the same" implies a close connection with this savior, the only one who understands his demons and has the power to control them (whereas he does not have the power, even though he recognizes what's happening to him).

Love the way the melodic chorus pops out from the grinding verses in this song.

My Interpretation

@Ricochet Thats what it feels like to me in my struggle.

@Ricochet is starset christian? if so, the person/thing could be god.

My thoughts are saying that there's a person and he s asking some to save him if he becomes is demons. Again, that's what my thoughts are saying.
