This Isn't Control

To me this is about a relationship that might be intense as in "simmering songs never get plain". it's wonderful "tinsel dreams, sweet lemonade" very heartwarming... and then the following lines clearly that got screwed up and there's a sense of abandonment. "Curious schools mimicking fools" is one of the more curious lines of the song. To me it evokes study of psychology or psychiatry. Everything is seen very clinical and labeled and categorized but it's foolish because it isn't holistic. Western thought ignores the spirituality and mind/body connection. I've had many relationships impacted by mental illness and I wonder if how we deal with it as a society doesn't often impede healthy relationships. The line "this isn't control" could be about how that system isn't working or it could be about taking responsibility for your own actions in a relationship or it could just be about feeling out of control. Not really sure on that one... "What was the spell it feels like a curse Wonder if you could lead first" - this makes me think about a codependent relationship. they can seem like curses or spells and this person sounds exhausted by their role
