This lyric gives me the impression of two-people-against- the-world type of situation; a "partners-in-crime" sort of scenario. This could be a couple, or best friends who relate to each other and share the same dreams, goals, life purpose. It's more about their bond and dependance on each other, rather then their intentions--whether good or bad.
This song seems to be about Bonnie and Clyde. From the lyrics to the style of music, a love song about a pair of misfits etc.....is how it comes across to me anyway.
